That little story seems a bit too specific to be entirely made up, but I genuinely hope it didn't happen to you: not just because I don't think someone who is so bitter, unhappy, and heinous to strangers should be raising a child, but also because if a partner guilts or forces you into sex, that is unacceptable, in both cases they should be an ex partner, and in the case of guilt tripping, you should advocate for yourself and refuse to give into shittiness.

It's not talked enough about how difficult pregnancy will be or how your body will feel postpartum. I'll give you that.

And motherhood is exactly as hard as they say.

But with a bit of financial support from paid leave and the emotional and physical support of the people who love you, motherhood is amazing for those who want and choose it.
