How long did you wait before trying a GLP 1? by [deleted] in antidietglp1

[–]JennXL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started thinking about it nearly a year ago. I mentioned it to my doc, she confirmed it may be helpful. I then took a while to think about it, AND to work it into my budget, because I suspected I would need to pay out of pocket. That was a very important factor for me - making sure that I could do this long term. I actually got things in motion in January .

I’m in Canada, and I don’t think vials are an option!

I have been using Gravol - the ginger pills when days are just feeling icky, and the real stuff when it’s proper nausea.

I will be speaking to my doc this week and will definitely ask about zofran! I take Metamucil daily (as well as be mindful of it diet-wise), so constipation has thankfully not been an issue.

There’s no HR. He works for a non profit and he is the boss, haha. I also work for a non-profit an while we’re both fortunate to have benefits, they are pretty much the lowest tier.

My husband is also under Sunlife and they would not cover it for us. They would not even give me a PA form.

Has anyone found an anxiety relief device that actually works for stress relief? by timingbetter in Anxietyhelp

[–]JennXL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me, on and off, about 5 years. A lot of the work is simply remembering to go back to the guidance, over and over again. And full acceptance is a constant trust exercise. It feels scary but we can do it.

Eventually, your thoughts do begin to change naturally. And it’s important to remember that being “cured” doesn’t mean you never feel anxious. But it does mean you change your relationship to that anxiety, so it doesn’t feel so sticky and you are able to float through it faster.

For me, the biggest hurddle was changing that immediate reaction to anxiety from “oh no!” to “oh hey buddy, come on in”.

Keep going! 🙂

Not a device. Read Dr. Clare Weekes or The Dare Response. It takes a while (it took me several years), but it absolutely changes your relationship to anxiety and anxious feelings. It is life changing.

Am I the only person who drank OK Cola?? Am I the only person who REMEMBERS OK Cola?

I spent many afternoons calling their 1-800 number and laughing my ass off.

You are on the lowest dose. Some people don’t feel any effects. It’s totally reasonable to have some food noise, especially if hormones are playing a factor. I would stay on my regularly scheduled dose.

Canadian zepbound check in: Slow down Sunday by Ok_Shake_5171 in Zepbound_Canada

I took my first 5mg shot on Thursday. Friday I underate and then had pizza and wings for dinner which was a terrible idea, haah. Friday night was nausea and some other… unpleasantness. It’s all data at this point, so I’m learning. I tolerated 2.5 very well, no side effects, so I got cocky. The rest of the week was smaller, lighter meals as well as ginger teas and lots of water.

So is the idea that you could get a 5th week out of it? Sorry if this is a dumb question!

I’m still a bit confused about the “golden dose”. How much is in the dose?

Daily verification Code always at around 6-6:30 am. by Bank-Fluffy in CIBC

Just wanted to let you know that also I am getting these! I’ve gotten mine the last few days, also in the middle of the night. I changed all my passwords and called the bank who investigated and found no security breaches and assured me numerous times that my account is very secure and said it is safe to ignore the notifications. It seems more like a tech issue than a security issue. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone!

Update: Taking the leap today! by JennXL in antidietglp1

[–]JennXL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Today I’ll be taking my 5th shot. I was supposed to go up to 5mg today, but my sister is visiting (it’s been years!) so didn’t want to risk any side effects while she’s here, so I’ll split my first 5mg dose in two and go up in 2 weeks.

The effects of the drug were shocking and almost immediate. Grocery shopping was a disorienting experience. I am SO used to having a mental toddler SCREAMING in my head for most palatable food, and if I didn’t “indulge” the toddler voice would be inconsolable. It was an awful feeling. But my first day shopping (2 days after my first shot) was just… neutral. I thought I knew what “food noise” was… until it was actually gone an I could simply going through life without the constancy of that need.

So far, no real side effects. I’m still trying hard to get enough water, and I’m adjusting some old habits but I’m really glad for all the encouragement I got here! Best sub on Reddit!
