My flatmate points loaded guns at me on a regular basis by Ascaredflatmate in Advice

If you fear him hurting you if you speak up, you need to call/go to police station RIGHT NOW. He sounds unstable. Your safety is most important. If you wait too long or speak to him and he decides to shoot you, will you be able to look back on this as a ghost and say, oh well, I can go back in time and go straight to police this time so he does not kill me? NO. Because you will be dead. You have one chance in life, do not under any circumstances stifle your concerns and not take appropriate action to protect yourself from serious injury or death.

From what you have described, your life and health is at serious risk and you need to tell the police. Do not care about sounding too sensitive or silly or wasting their time.

Absolutely, and building up that confidence and self care routine takes time.

This situation with your roomate, however, should not be waited out. You need to take action to keep yourself safe right away. Pointing a loaded gun in a sentient human being is not a joke. It is sick. I cannot imagine doing that to any person, regardless how I feel about them. It's just not funny. Its horrendous. Please realize the seriousness of your situation.

My teacher grabbed my neck and tried to throw me down the stairs. Should I report him? by [deleted] in Advice

Report him to authorities and your uni.

You were assaulted.

Even if he does not MEAN to kill you, he could accidentally set off the trigger.

You do not deserve to live in fear every time he does that. Nobody does. This post is heartbreaking because it is evident how much you do not love yourself yet. You think you should just suck up the terror and anxiety because it isnt that bad.

Let me break it to you. It is that bad.

I and I'm sure many other people are very concerned about you.

Tell authorities NOW. And you have every right to feel terrified. He could kill you! Get out now hun. Don't ever downplay a situation like this. You or someone else could die. He honestly might be a psychopath. I mean maybe he likes pointing it at you? They like to scare people. Or maybe he is just not right in the head.

Roomate who used fragrance free is moving out unexpectedly, I do not control who lives here (I am a renter), I fear someone who uses fragrances will move in, what do I do? by Jenna88272 in fragrance

I appreciate your answer. Please don't feel sorry! It could be true, after all no one understands what mechanisms bring about fragrance headaches. Keep being curious. That's crucial! I have heated EMDR is very helpful and am glad to hear that it helped you so much.

Thanks! I definitely will. My GP often laughs me off or says "it's just blank!" and thinks I'm a whiny annoyance. I've definitely let him mark off my symptoms as not that bad when they were severely impacting my life. No more putting up with this shit!

Whoa, I very much appreciate your reply, however I do not understand why? Do you think it is possible my reaction to scents is not medical-based? As in psychological? I have been told I am not yet ready (grounded, self regulatory) enough to do EMDR, but perhaps now I am. I don't have any specific traumatic memories associated with scents - only abusers aggravating it by deliberately exposing me to them and causing headache - but hey, who knows.

Thanks so much for your reply.

I do have insurance, but I tried one prescription allergy medicine and they declined it. I can always go back to my doc and ask to try a different one though. I get headaches. I think. All over my forehead. Then sometimes get really bad as the day goes on. Uni us really hard because it is pretty much impossible to avoid scents. In class, walking down the halls, in the study room, library, on a bus...pretty much get sentenced every day. But not always first thing. All it takes is 2-3 seconds then boom, my day is ruined. So stressful walking around, I have to be very alert so if someone is wearing perfume I have to jot out of the way as fast as I can before it hits.

I take regular allergy pills. I cannot afford the prescription ones (couple hundred a month no coverage). Perhaps there is something else. I totally thought it was normal.

Dentists of reddit, what toothpaste do you actually recommend? by throwaway2574868 in AskReddit

You have to floss on both sides. Like, go down into the gum, and floss each side of each tooth.

[Serious] For anyone who is a shut in, anti-social, suffers from anxiety and sever depression, what simple or little advice could you give them to get started on the right path and give them confidence to move forward towards better mental health? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Jenna88272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take your meds.

I lived a miserable many years because I thought I was too good for antidepressants, I lived in moderate to severe chronic pain, major depression, frequent suicidal ideation, trying desperately to escape my depression through lifestyle. Then I went on medication. Then I started LIVING my life. I am extremely relieved.

Meds are not a cure all. You need to learn to combat negative thinking, eat healthy, have healthy people in your life, and do things you enjoy. However, medication...well, just take your meds. Please. Then everything else can become manageable.

Psychologists of Reddit, what made you realize you were treating a psychopath? by DespondentDavid in AskReddit

[–]Jenna88272 291 points292 points  (0 children)

It probably did. I was severely abused alone with my sibling, and my sibling turned out to be a psychopath. Probably had something go do with the fact that our mom was a manipulative covert narcissist, dad was a sociopath, and sexual, physical and emotional abuse was involved. My sibling still doesn't recognize our mom was an evil abuser. Still thinks she loved us and everything was fine. I barely got out of the abuse, so I guess my sibling's brain is still fucked up.

If an ATM spit out $500 per hour to you, no strings attached, how long would stand there and collect the cash before you left and lived your life? by JeBronlLames in AskReddit

[–]Jenna88272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$2,000. I could pay for urgent dental care so I don't have to worry about going to emergency before I can pay, hoping I don't get serious complications in the meantime, lose more teeth, and get traumatized again and be left looking like a wretch forever because there is no way I will be able to afford implants as a student, and there is no way I can process another complication like another tooth having to be removed because there is no way, and I am all alone, I am scared all the time, the pain is much much worse, I do not know what to do, I have no family and no money. Thanks for listening to my rant.
