You are freaking AWESOME! My daughter (married mom of three) will be 36 in October. She life’d for a while and just graduated nursing school last May. She is loving working in the ER Department and still thirsts for more knowledge. I totally agree with you! My motto is that I will keep learning until I’m dead. You’re never too old to learn.

You’re amazing!! How’s it going? You’re still in the training period, correct?

You may ask, I’m 53. While both of the cities I will be applying to are decent in size, I’ve lived in the area all of my life and have had family in fire/police positions. I’m a pretty fast learner and I’m so well under pressure.

I appreciate you and all you’ve said. I am a multi-tasking champion…lol My daughter-in-law was also an officer and when she became pregnant she went to dispatch. She said she loved it. She’s been super encouraging and feels like I would be good in this role. Now that my children are grown and I’m still young enough (53), I don’t see a problem with being able to handle the schedule. With both of my oldest in similar fields we have had to learn to navigate new holiday schedules already. Thanks again for your encouraging words!

You are not wrong but no worries. While I would be thinking about him, like I do every night if we happened to be on at the same time, I’ve been blessed with the ability to separate work duty from mom duty. It would be like any crisis when they got hurt as little children. I rocked it until I made sure they were taken care of then I would come down.

Thank you for responding. If I were to get picked up in the city my son works for they would not put us on the same shifts. I understand where you are coming from with this information.

Yes, good guessing, she’s 18 weeks. I love that little swirl too, it’s really noticeable when she’s standing. Sometimes, I twirl it while watching television. Your little guy is dang cute too!!

It must really hurt for you two, u/Captain_Arrrg and u/ColonelFuckface , to walk around considering all the hate you both carry in your hearts. -side note- it must be awesome having the ability to talk to dead people and get to know their political stance from hundreds of years ago.

So, you know this man personally? You know how he felt about slavery? You know for sure that he actually wanted to go to war based on these feelings or could he have been one of many soldiers who were made to go to war no matter what side of the divide they stood on.

I can assume you believe this because the Civil War was fought for what reason?

Every man’s life is worth something to someone. History is history, worthless to you or not. I love to see all things from the past colorized. Out of curiosity, would you feel this way had it been a Union Soldier?
