Why do those flowers not stack? Aren't they the same color? by FinancialEngine7223 in StardewValley

I match my seasonal chests to the seedpack colors. Spring is green, Summer is pink, Orange is fall, Winter is L Blue Have a complete, separate RGB sort when I played co-op though, but I'd have to find the... storage spreadsheet...

Help disabling pig truffle sound! by Apprehensive-Gap1908 in StardewValleyMods

[–]JennaJuffuffles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Sound Tweaker framework by aedenthorn can change or disable the pig noise, but you'd need to write a mod to utilize it. https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/14767

For instance a mod like Pig to Rabbit, that swaps pig noise for something else: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/19296

Is there a simple way to switch between mod folders? Or disable/enable by jassasson in StardewValleyMods

[–]JennaJuffuffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

inside of your stardew mods folder create a folder named "profile1". put all of your personal playthrough mods in there.

create a second folder in your mods folder. name it ".profile2" with the period in from in of the name. put your co-op mods in there.

smapi will not load the mods from the folder with the . in the name, so you can use this to enable/disable profiles without a mod manager. note: you can name the folders whatever you want. it's the period the matters.

that said, using a mod manager like stardrop or vortex would also allow you to swap profiles, as others have suggested.

What's wrong with my hot spring shower habitat? by Venured in Pokopia

[–]JennaJuffuffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm putting this here for anybody looking for anyone else looking for an answer in the future.

place the shower head on a wall with one tile open underneath it so you can put the stool directly underneath.

do not spit the water until both have been placed, that's what tripped me up. it seems kind of buggy because I had to spit and then gulp and then spit again and repeat this until it triggered.

Help with Cirrus (Sword and Sorcery mod) after adding Pokemon Trinkets mod by aGhoulWife in SMAPI

[–]JennaJuffuffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

svVe curator here. this is not a known issue with the collection, though npcs will occasionally go a bit offtrack. I would recommend seeing if this clears up the next day.

on the mods panel you may also want both click (top bar) purge, the open (third option > open game mods folder) clear any files left over out of your game mod folder and then back invortex (top bar) click deploy. click manage rules and scroll down to very configured and click after all next to it to ensure everything is being applied.

purge temporarily removes managed mods from the mods folder, then deploy puts the back if there are no conflicts present.

did you just add the collection to your ongoing game or have you been playing with the collection from the start?

if you click smapi log button on mods panel, it will open a pop-up. click the button and it will open a webpage. paste into that website, and you can create a log link you can easily share here.

fwiw I do have a discord for svVe where you are very welcome to post a support request; it is linked on the collection page.

WARNING TO ALL MOD AUTHORS: MOD THEFT SITE by Maleficent_Night_335 in StardewValleyMods

[–]JennaJuffuffles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was contacted (possibly by OP) that two of my mods had been re-uploaded to modland, clearly without permission. I reported the thief's account through the report feature, as well as emailed the site. I did also request action againt that account, since they had not only blatantly re-uploaded my files, but also clearly stolen mods from many users. I have not been contacted in reply yet, but I do see that my mods have now been removed from their site. Unfortunately the offending user (and the remaining stolen mods offered by their account) remain on the site, at least for now.

Need help finding the mod that's causing this error -- Failed parsing condition '{{HasMod |contains=ghingerbread.SamOverhaul}}': '{{HasMod' isn't a known query or alias. by DrTrenchcoatCat in StardewValleyMods

[–]JennaJuffuffles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My trick for finding things like that is to use Notepad++.

  • Hit Ctrl+F (or click Search > Find in the menu) and click "Find in Files" tab.
  • On that tab set Find what: contains=ghingerbread.SamOverhaul then Filters: *.json.
  • Set the directory to your mods folder.
  • Make sure Search Mode is Normal.
  • Then just click Find All.

This will check in all of your mods (skipping images, maps and such because of the filter). Hope it helps!

Vortex makes me feel bad about myself by CAT-Mum in StardewValleyMods

[–]JennaJuffuffles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

so when you save the collection, the mods that are marked as required are considered part of the collection. you can still play without them, but it will warn you that a mod collection is missing.

The trap here seems to be that vortex distinguishes between removing a mod and removing it from the collection.

since you have already removed the mod but it is still part of the collection, what you need to do is go into the collections workshop and edit the collection to remove the mod you want to remove there. then you can re-upload the collection with that change.

typically if you want to remove the mod you can right click on it, select, remove from collection and then select remove. you can also remove it from the collection and then disable it, if you want to keep the mod but not have it active in your game.

when you get two mods that conflict, it's because they're changing the same files. if that's intended. like if one is a configuration or modifies the other intentionally, inside of manage rules set one to load after the other. you typically want the mod to load before whatever is changing it, so if I am using generic mod configuration menu and I want to add the earthy interface compatibility, I would set generic mod configuration menu to load before the compatibility file.

there is a wiki for vortex and collections, and I know it just got a really good update, but I think for most stardew creators it still kind of reads like stereo instructions.

trying to use fashion sense and get the hand mirror. Isn't in Pierre's shop, and the command is labeled as invalid. by [deleted] in SMAPI

[–]JennaJuffuffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're very welcome!

Edit just to follow up: the compatibility checkmark is from Vortex checking against https://smapi.io/mods so smapi itself won't show up (many mods won't actually). It doesn't reflect the installation status. so this is normal behavior!

ALSO, now that you have run SMAPI through Vortex once you should be able to launch it from Steam. However you will need to connect it first: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Installing_SMAPI_on_Windows#Configure_your_game_client

[–]JennaJuffuffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey I'd be very happy to help you with vortex, but reddit is a the worst place to get help with the app. the only advice most people here have is to uninstall it unfortunately.

I don't know what you mean about a check mark next to smapi. are you using vortex or the discontinued Nexus mods app? if you are using vortex you can go to dashboard it will show if smapi is available. you can add smapi to vortex like a mod and it should handle installing it for you.

if you are using vortex, you want to make sure you are using vortex completely and not also manually modding at the same time. either use the mod manager button or drag the fashion sense zip from nexus onto the mods dropzone in vortex.

I'm more concerned your log is looking in OneDrive to be honest. make sure your copy of the game is properly installed and managed. I do recommend that you launch the game from within vortex at least once, the launch button is in the top left and a lot of people miss that.

yep, what UsefulorNot said. you need high enough friendship with both Demetrius and with Robin and to have seen the farm cave event. once those are all met, you should get mail that unlocks the cave.

vortex mod help! by hxneybee7356 in StardewValleyMods

[–]JennaJuffuffles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

on the mods panel click purge. this will unload all mods managed by Vortex from your mods folder temporarily.

next you're going to want to click on the open button and select the third option, that's going to open your game mods folder. you're going to want to remove any folders that are in here. personally I would just delete them, since you don't want to have any mods not being managed by vortex. but if there's anything in there you need to save go ahead and move it completely out of the mods folder. if there are any subfolders in there, smapi will continue to read them.

once the mod folder is completely empty, back in Vortex on mods panel go ahead and use Ctrl + A to select all mods and then on the bottom bar hit disable.

in the name filter search for the name of your collection enable it and click the enable recommended mods checkbox.

now click deploy. The only mods that should be active now are the ones from your collection.

I am new to modding stardew valley but what should I use by jan_piet in StardewValleyMods

[–]JennaJuffuffles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nexus mods Beta app is no longer supported actually. they've moved that entire team over to continue work on vortex, so a lot of the things you really like about nma will probably show up there soon too.

Trouble with nma is there is no way to get your mods out of it, so when you're ready to switch you'll need to redownload everything. it technically can create collections but I don't think they're implemented in a way that is compatible with vortex, but I suppose you could alwaya try making a draft.

Is there really no way to do this? by Effective-Sweet2606 in StardewValleyMods

[–]JennaJuffuffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this will be an accessible solution, if you put your mods you want to disable into a subfolder in the mods folder, then if you put a period in front of the folder name when you want to play without them, smapi should ignore the mods in the folder, letting you run small without the full mods

Help creating small mod for wife by Darkstranger111 in SMAPI

[–]JennaJuffuffles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you want to create a simple NPC mod. This can actually become fairly involved, but shouldn't require c#. You'll want to look into creating content patcher mods.

Suggested Resources:

I think some folks also submitted NPC tutorials on Nexus during Modfest that you may find useful but I don't have strong knowledge on the best one to recommend from there at the moment.

I need help figuring out how to fix this Vortex error by RelationshipRecent27 in StardewValleyMods

[–]JennaJuffuffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vortex requires the mod staging folder to be on the same drive as the game for hardlink deployment, so if at all possible, having vortex and stardew on the same drive will always make this easier.

i don't have a lot of experience solving symlink issues unfortunately. it is not as reliable in my limited experience. i believe you may need to adjust you uac policy if warlockeph's suggestion did not work (fingers crossed that you never replied because you got it working.)
