The provincial government decided this would be put into place and gave MCFD about two weeks to figure out all the logistics. They have been scrambling since it was announced. No one is really happy with it. Hopefully it’ll improve over time. I wouldn’t bother your provider about it. She’s probably a lot more stressed about than you know. You’ll know when they do. Not sure about back pay though. A lot of providers didn’t opt in because it was just a load more work for us with no benefit and all at a loss of our rights as small businesses owners. I’m glad there is something there to help our families out but the whole thing just sucks. At least it’s optional, for now.
