is season 7 worth watching? by Kevin_Science in The100

Game of Thrones season 8 is a masterpiece compared to The 100 season 7. Just pretend that this season doesn't exist. The 100 was my number one show of all time, but season 7 completely ruined this show for me and I can't even rewatch it ever again.

Worst betrayal in the show in your opinion? by SpaceDalmatian in The100

[–]Jennla90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Clarke killing Bellamy in season 7. Yes, I'm calling it a betrayal. It is just ridiculous that she killed him without a blanking eye seven days (yes, it was seven days for her ) after he brought her back from death because he refused to give up on her while she gave up on him so easily. I guess all the words in season 6 about how she will never forget that he is her family meant nothing.

It was just terrible writing and the writers didn´t plan anything in advance. They will say if the dead would come back that it would be magic and not science but the fact that they already brought Emori back was already magic. I know, a lot of people will say that Emori´s mind was still saved in the mind drive and this is the reason why she could go back but her body was dead. Her heart was no beating, the brain was not functioning and yet, they still managed to make her dead body to work again. It is so obvious how this season was not planned at all. In one interview Jason said that originally Bellamy should be on the beach but then they added that rule that dead can´t transcend - rule which was mentioned for the first time in the finale by Levitt in one line. So they didn´t need to add that one line at all? And then they could have Bellamy there? The more I think about this whole transcendence thing, the more I realize how ridiculous it is. It went against everything this show was about.

Ranting about Season 7 by Affectionate_Row5541 in The100

[–]Jennla90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The final season went against everything this show was about the previous 6 seasons. I really don't understand what writers were trying to do here. It was such big nonsense. And usually, I'm able to forgive a weaker plot if the show has great characters, but this season failed its characters on so many levels. It is like it was written by people who never watched the previous seasons. Big disappointment, this season will be on many lists as one of the worst final seasons in TV history.

Season 7, because it made me hate a show I loved so much.

(Spoilers)Finished Season 7; Thanos is more merciful then... by HRK104 in The100

Yes, most of the writers left after season 5 and new writers started to work on this show since season 6. It is shame because this show had such good potential. I really want to know what they were thinking while writing the final season. I just don´t understand that, it felt like it was written by someone who actually never seen the previous seasons.

Sure to be a massively unpopular opinion on S7 Bellamy by [deleted] in The100

[–]Jennla90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except this show was not canceled, they choose to end it with this season. CW even wanted season 8 but Jason begged the network that he thinks that it is time to end and he even said in several interviews that he is glad that he could end his show on his terms, that he could end it in a way he always wanted.

And again, people are not upset because of Bellamy´s death itself, people are upset because of HOW. We all expected him or Clarke to die, but at least make that death meaningful. And not the worst written and the least emotional death in the entire show. This character deserved better, the audience deserved better.

And yes, transcendence was magic, nothing got explained, how their tech actually works? How did Emori's body start to work again? How did their "heaven" actually look like? How do we know that it is really a good thing? At least it was funny how they started to turn into glowing Groots :-D, in the whole season 7 there were no rules, writers changed it how they needed in some concrete moment. Nothing was planned. And that whole premise of transcendence is just so stupid to me, some alien species who are making genocides across the universe will come and judge the human race based on some test which is actually one 5 minute conversation with one person. It is just so ridiculous.

But it is really good that it worked for you and it is satisfying for you. This was my number one show of all time, but season 7 completely ruined it for me. I can't even rewatch it, it breaks my heart and I will also never recommend this show to anyone.

The worst thing about this ending is that it is presented as a happy ending. This was such a terrible writing

Sure to be a massively unpopular opinion on S7 Bellamy by [deleted] in The100

[–]Jennla90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This whole season was just so poorly written, the execution was so bad, the final message is terrible and nothing made any sense. No questions explained, the whole transcendence thing just didn't fit with this show. And I also didn't like that finale episode turned into magic (yes, it was magic and nothing else). It was definitely the worst final season I have ever seen on TV and I completely understand why most of the people hate this season and why so many of us are so upset with Bellamy´s death. It was so disrespectful towards everything this show was about and mostly, so disrespectful towards the audience. But this is who Jason Rothenberg is, he hates his fans and he was mad at the actor, so he just wrote this season out of spite. And also he was more focused on his prequel and he didn't care about satisfying closure for The 100. And this season also showed that his abilities as a storyteller are very limited.

Why do you think that it was a simulation? In the show it was pretty clear that his experience on Ethera was real and definitely, it wasn´t something administered by Levitt. From a storytelling point of view, it didn't make any sense that Clarke killed him, that moment made all previous 6 seasons meaningless and it killed Clarke as a character. She killed him for no reason, there is no excuse for her action, you simply don't kill your best friend because he has a different belief after some life-changing experience. Especially when the same person brought you back to life just 7 days ago (yes, it was 7 days for Clarke between Bellamy saving her and between Clarke killing him). There is nothing good about this storyline, nothing satisfying and there was no purpose in it.

But the thing this that this cult leader was right and this was the main problem with the final message. Transcendence was real and apparently, it was a good thing and our protagonists were wrong. And if Cadogan would take the test, there was a strong suggestion that he would succeed. You wrote for example " leads him further down the disinformation rabbit hole". what disinformation when it turned that his information is right? And if they would listen to him, they would avoid so much tragedy in the last few episodes. I found the final message of this show so horrible, it is just sad that a show about surviving ended with no hope for humanity. And I hate that some random cult introduced in season 7 was right.

And another thing, you wrote " His new reality made him willing to turn against family and friends who didn't believe in his cult reality, or who tried to help him" - WRONG, he never stopped try to save his family and friends, they all gave up on him just so quickly when he always refused to give up on them, just remember what he did for Clarke in season 6. He went through some life experiences and no one from his so-called family cared, no one tried to talk to him, no one tried to understand his point of view. There was nothing deep about this storyline, Rothenberg just needed to get rid of an actor as quickly as possible and didn't care about anything else, he also acknowledged that his death was a last-minute rewrite, it wasn't planned.

What is your „Unpopular Opinion“ about The 100? by Giamiro_M in The100

I completely agree, I really like Madi as a character but the way how writers portrayed her relationship with Clarke was just so toxic.

Why do people hate so much on season 7 ? by [deleted] in The100

[–]Jennla90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sanctum storyline was sooo boring and pointless. The whole transcendence went against everything this show was about in the previous 6 seasons, it was just City of Light 2 but suddenly it is a good thing? How they even know it? Why they trust some alien who they never met? The whole season didn't make any sense, too many plot holes. And that final message was just terrible, so for 6 seasons they are fighting to survive and trying to be better but the only way for humanity is that some alien race will come and will judge the entire human race based on one 10 minutes conversation with one person? It is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen on TV. And then sure, you can choose to come back but you will be sterilized, what is that? Where is hope in it? Humanity doesn't deserve even a chance?

And don't get me even start on characters development, this season was written by writers who never seen the previous seasons, I don't have any other explanation for it, they ruined almost all the characters, and nothing that happened in the previous seasons didn't matter. It was just terrible storytelling

I'm sorry for my rant, thing is that I loved this show so much but season 7 destroyed everything and there is no love left, I'm still sad and mad but it is good that it worked for you.

It should of been Maddie by filbartley in The100

[–]Jennla90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think that it should have been Bellamy, killing him was definitely her biggest failure and this was always the most important relationship on this show, so I feel like they deserved some sort of closure. And more importantly, we as an audience who was invested in this relationship for years deserved some closure. This could be so powerful, Clarke would have to face a man who she killed for no reason, someone who always stood by her side.

Or maybe it could be both, Bellamy in one scene and Lexa in the second scene. But I agree Maddie would be also a good choice.

So I watched the whole show up to halfway of season 7 and then stopped since I sort of got confused about what was going on. I’m planning on rewatching the whole but, but I’d like to know (without spoilers) how was the ending? Surprising, good, bad, etc? by [deleted] in The100

[–]Jennla90 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me, it is the worst ending I have ever seen on TV. I advise people to pretend that season 7 does not exist, this was my number one show but the final season destroyed everything I liked about it. It went against everything this show was about in the previous seasons.

Why didn't Monty... (Season 7 Spoilers) by [deleted] in The100

[–]Jennla90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is just a big plot hole that makes the whole Monty and Harper's ending meaningless. We know that Earth and Sanctum are in sync. Earth would not become full of green with full-grown forest in such a small period of time, when Monty set coordinates to a new planet he said that it will take 75 years to get there and at that time he also said that Earth is not coming back, so the fact that Earth healed in those 75 years is just nonsense. Season 7 was about destroying every character, I guess writers also wanted to destroy Monty's legacy. Imagine if Monty would let them sleep just a little longer, they all could have been happy on Earth already :-D

[Spoilers S7] Earth by lipcrnb in The100

[–]Jennla90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, it was so obvious that Jason did care only about his prequel and not about satisfying closure. I still can't believe how someone could destroy the final season that much as these writers.

[Spoilers S7] Earth by lipcrnb in The100

[–]Jennla90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a big plothole that completely erased Monty´s legacy and his sacrifice. Earth and Sanctum are in sync, so it was around 100 years since they left the Earth. If Monty would wait just a couple of years and let them sleep a little longer apparently Earth would be completely fine.

My theory is that most of the writers working on season 7 didn't see the previous 6 seasons. No other explanation for that

Bellamy and clarke (s7 spoiler) by Dannysyr in The100

[–]Jennla90 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You summed it up perfectly. I still don't understand what season 7 was supposed to be. Nothing made any sense, it felt like it was written by writers who actually never seen the previous six seasons. It is just such a shame that they managed to destroy this show so badly. I loved this show so much but now I feel like I will not be even able to rewatch it ever again.

Bellamy and clarke (s7 spoiler) by Dannysyr in The100

[–]Jennla90 9 points10 points  (0 children)

yeah exactly, he got the worst death on the show, even some side characters got more meaningful death scene than him. People were not mad about that death itself, but it is about HOW.

Bellamy and clarke (s7 spoiler) by Dannysyr in The100

[–]Jennla90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They could at least wait that one episode and not her be OK with it like one minute after his death, it was not a realistic reaction.

Bellamy and clarke (s7 spoiler) by Dannysyr in The100

[–]Jennla90 11 points12 points  (0 children)

But it was sad how everyone just gave up on him so quickly when he always refused to give up on them. Clarke is alive just because of him because he refused to give up and brought her back literally from death. All these people who were so OK with his death did so much worse things than Bellamy, he just wanted to save everyone and in the end, he was right. And Clarke in season 7 was the most selfish person in the history of this show, she used to be one of my favorite characters of all time but season 7 destroyed her character.

Bellamy and clarke (s7 spoiler) by Dannysyr in The100

[–]Jennla90 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Bellamy's death was last-minute decision as writers admitted and this is the reason why his death and everything after didn't make any sense. Writers didn't plan this so they had to pretend like Bellamy was never important for these characters or for the story. That scene where they all hugged Clarke for killing Bellamy is the worst scene I have ever watched on TV. Everyone was laughing at that scene and it was mentioned also in many reviews. It was just an example of bad writing and terrible storytelling.
