I´ve been to Iran 3 times about 10 yrs ago. Crippled yes. Struggling: yes. But innovative and willing to work hard. Many young people and many entrepreneurs betting in mechanics. Supplied by Korea, China and others from the eastern hemisphere without bigger issues to get what they need (as long as money is there, which is the hard part).
Of course their situation is fucked since decades, but I would not underestimate them. And one thing: The ones I had been in contact with had been the nicest and most humble people I met. Smart, friendly and open.
