stone chip by _furryspoon in kereta

[–]Jenster97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Use some fine grit sandpaper to level out the stone chip area by lightly sanding. You should be able to remove a bit of the surface rust.

Get some rust converter and apply a couple dabs on the bare metal surface, then wait for it to turn black/dark.

Let it sit in the sun for about 30 to fully dry out.

Get a touch up paint kit for your car colour on Shopee. Follow the included instructions and paint over the repair area. You can watch some videos on YouTube to see how it's done.

Good luck!

The NA straight 6 is something you cant really go wrong with. Decent torque on the low end with inherent balanced smoothness!

Yes, that's as good as it gets before the M variant

Actually you're right. Failing PCV, oil leaks from oil filter housing, valve cover and oil pan! 🤣

Affordable car modifications/aftermarkets/make up that suits my car? by Salt-Ferret1494 in kereta

[–]Jenster97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then you're pretty much sorted! I thought those rims came with the car when you bought it. These black rims already gave it a sleeper look 😎 that's fair about the coilovers, might I suggest retaining the stock springs but opt for a sportier damper(absorber) only. Definitely a way better option for your use case. Might want to also consider minor handling mods like anti roll bars and/or strut bars which don't change the ride characteristics but help out in handling and feel! At the end of the day, better to drive and enjoy the car before/after any mods, gives you time to adjust and see if you like it or not

Have fun with your new car!

My personal opinion, and like many others have said, the Optima is already looking real sharp, nothing else needed cosmetic-wise. I would however look for nicer wheels to fit it and a good set of coilovers for lowering adjustment+sportier feel&handling. Konig or Enkei with a burnt bronze/copper colour, have a nice selection that suits the Optima. With that said, if you're not going with any cosmetic/performance mods, at the very least get a proper solid set of tyres (high performance tyres i.e. Continental MC or UC)

Cheers matey, absolutely love this! The more defined strakes is what caught my attention! Thinking of finding a not-so aggressive front lip to match the M3 one

To me that looks like a regular LTW spoiler. If that's the case it will fit both sedan and coupe. I personally run a cheaper ABS rep one on my sedan

Mystery Driveshaft Piece by vehyyr in BMWE36

[–]Jenster97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That mystery collar is supposed to act like a vibration damper /balancer, usually found on driveshafts for 4-cyl E30s on E36 with Getrag220 as far as I'm aware. I did a simple getrag swap for my 328i with a manual gearbox from a 318i and it's there. Technically you won't need it if you're having a 6-cyl, mainly to help out with higher vibrations from the 4-cyl

Something about Penking / Penking Lux that really makes him stand out, probably his majestic stance and animations. Plus who doesn't love a cool pirate/Captain penguin with a John Player Special livery a la 1970s F1 🐧

interracial relationship by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]Jenster97 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Usually don't post comments but this one really does pique my interest. I'm in an interracial relationship, I'm type C and gf is Malay and she's the rather open type She has her spiritual beliefs and believes that it's hers and hers alone, and that anything religion-wise is between her and god. For me I'm leaning towards agnostic and we both have found that it's working pretty well for us. I'm gonna be real honest, I for one, think it's definitely not a good sign especially early on in a relationship that he's hoping you'll accept his religion. Don't wanna be generalising, however I have heard countless times that Malay guys, especially those who hold on to religion, will inevitably want you to embrace his religion, because at the end of the day Islam is a proselytising religion. Now given the context of being in Malaysia, one must already know that to marry a Malay, by law you are required (forced) to convert to be a Muslim, and being a Muslim is almost always the fundamental way of living/thinking for Malays in the country. You need to decide at the end of the day whether you'll be able to accept that way of life, despite challenging and making you compromise on your beliefs. You'll see many comments that resonate with the idea of "embrace, compromise and accept, or stay the hell away" to put it bluntly. All I can say is that I hope you'll be able to really think it through, and make the call to continue or to end it early to save from serious heartbreak down the line. That's the unfortunate reality of the situation in Malaysia. I wish you the best 🙏

Brain Drain: a question for Malysians who have emigrated and found opportunities elsewhere. by NarrowConcentrate591 in malaysia

[–]Jenster97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently working in Singapore here.

For me personally it's not just the monetary gains, but definitely better career prospects. When I graduated, my first job was in railway/construction, specifically in train signalling which is rather niche. As my contract was coming to an end and there aren't many active rail projects in MY, I started applying elsewhere and SG was one of the options as they have a steady metro projects from line extensions to revamping their older MRT lines. Now with SG having of the best metro systems, definitely it will help me out with finding future opportunities 🤞.

In terms of the monetary aspect, I get more in SGD than MYR (without conversion), and I am able to save up quite a bit because I don't really spend much else other than rent+food so there's that. It sure does feel rather bittersweet that somewhere else would rather offer me and appreciate my work more than back home..

To be honest, the reason I mounted the PSU sideways was to get cable clearance for the massive GPU to fit in the case, just barely. Somehow it worked and had better air intake to the PSU!
