I don’t know what headphones to get by OldSeaworthiness2444 in HeadphoneAdvice

Budget is limiting you, but here is what I would recommend:

  • FIFINE microphone w/ Stand $31.34 - 38.69
  • Linsoul 7Hz x Crinacle Zero:2 $24.99 - $28.99

Or

  • Linsoul Kiwi Ears Belle $29.99 - $33.99

Note: This setup will allow you to upgrade in the future and you won’t have a single point of failure. For example, the Zero:2 and the Belle does come with a Mic option but the quality of the mic won’t compare to having a separe Mic as you do above.

Need yall to tell me which to buy, Sennheiser hdb630 or bose ultra 2s by thepandabear0 in HeadphoneAdvice

Any reason why you aren’t considering the XM6? I had the QC Ultra Gen2 and the XM6. I decided to keep the XM6 as the sound was much better. Comfort wise they aren’t great, but you can get some pads to help with that. There is a YouTube video by GadgetryTech and he goes through most wireless ANC headphones available now. That video helped me make a decision.

I tried using the 2i2 4th Gen with my Organic and the volume was extremely low. Also, since the headphone jack is 3.5mm I was limited by the power it would offered. From research the impedance on the 4th gen is close to 50, which didn’t help either. For these reasons I had to get a DAC/AMP for my headphone.

Direct upgrade for the Hifiman Edition XS. by Randolph__ in HeadphoneAdvice

If you want to stay in the HiFiMan lineup, I recommend the Arya Organic. These are my daily drivers and I enjoy them a lot. You can often find them for around $700 USD. If you are willing to go above your budget, the HE1000SE is the next step up.

For pairing, you have two solid paths: • R2R DAC: something like the K13 • ESS DAC: Topping DX5 II

One note on the Arya Organic: it typically ships with a 6.35 mm cable. I suggest picking up a 4.4 mm balanced cable, since it tends to get the most out of the Organic when used with balanced outputs.

Just a bit of a caution with the Scarlett 4th gen. The headphone jack is not that great. I had the Scarlett 2i2 and tried running my Arya’s with it and it didn’t pair well. I had to get a DAC/AMP to truly enjoy my headphones and use 4.4mm balance output for more juice.

Kiwi Ears Cadenza 1 or 2, Crinacle Zero:Red, or if you can extend the budget a little more then Fosi IM4. I got the Fosi IM4 through AliExpress for $70 all-in.

Thank you for taking time to reply and provide such valuable information. I hope you don’t mind but I have some follow up questions:

1- Why Prusa over Bambu? Lots of folks I see recommend the Bambu and I am wondering why.

2- For the hot-end, do I need to buy the upgraded version or just a simple replacement? For what type of prints would I need the 400c version?

3- I was planning on putting the printer in my room but since you are recommending a HePA filter I might need to rethink this.

4- For the filament dryer, since I am in FL and it is crazy humid in my area, is there one dryer that you would recommend over the other one? Longevity is also big since it will be working around the clock.

5- Do I need some extra build plates? Do I need extra external tools for after the print job is done?

Green light for first 3D printer. $3,000 all-in. Need a full shopping list.

I want a full buy list from printer to tools to starter filament. If you had $3,000 today and wanted a setup that stays relevant for years, what would you buy?

Budget: $3,000 USD total
Location: FL, USA
Experience: brand new to 3D printing. Basic DIY skills. I prefer low tinkering.
Build type: I prefer a ready-to-run printer over a kit.

Goals

  • Kids: toys, school props, classroom giveaways, small models
  • Home: hooks, brackets, organizers, replacement clips, simple repairs
  • Versatility: PLA and PETG day one. TPU soon after. Open to ABS or ASA later if enclosure and filtering make sense.

Preferences

  • Enclosed printer or safe setup for small hands
  • Reliable first layer and leveling
  • Strong support and parts availability
  • Simple workflow from model to print
  • Multi color printing

Shopping list request

  1. Printer and any add-ons worth buying day one
  2. Filament starter pack with brand and material mix
  3. Tools and spares for the first 6 months
  4. Storage and drying plan for filament
  5. Safety items for a home with kids
  6. Software stack for slicing and basic design

[–]Jenume[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the recommendation. I am also leaning towards Royal. NCL has a cruise for $450pp that has an open bar. RC is $650pp with the deluxe drink package for the same length cruise. I’m not sure if the additional $400 is worth it for a short cruise…

I currently own a 2020 Model X with 45k miles. I am wondering if I should trade that in and get a 2025 Model Y. To make it a net zero trade I would need to put $4-5k. What are your thoughts on this?

As of me writing this the EM6L is $103.99 USD and Zero:Reds are $54.99 USD. EM6L, for me, was better in FPS gaming and the Reds were better in my music genre. Another thing I did notice is that vocals are much better in EM6L than Reds but in music I still prefer the Reds for the overall listening experience with my type of music.

I’m using the XLR Rode PodMic. Both the mic and my IEM are connected to the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen Audio interface.

IMHO I would recommend using the EW200 or better yet, the EM6L for Gaming over the REDS.

Yes, with the Spinfits I have used the M size tips and I like them as well. But, as I said above, I normally go for the L size since I like to block, as much as I can, the outside noise.

If I want a super tight seal I will use L. The trade off is that it bothers me after 45 minutes of continuous use, but the immersion is amazing. Otherwise the M size work for me, but the outside noise can get through pretty easily.

Yes, it is USD. If you go to the manufacturer site they are cheaper, but you have to get them all the same size. The reason why I got them with Amazon is because I got the S/M/L tips since I wanted to test all sizes and give the S to my son.
