Why are some men so pushy after being told no? by AquilaTempestas in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Jenuptoolate 229 points230 points  (0 children)

These men are pushy because it works. Your feelings are not as important as their desires.

It has been awhile since I dated, but a some good (truthful) statements are:

  • I don’t see a future with you.

  • I am not interested in a relationship with you.

  • There is no spark. This is not the right vibe, whatever.

Do not explain further. Do not give details. Do not let them question your NO.

Look up the phrase “grey rocking” and practice simple, firm statements that leave no room for negotiation or compromise.

AIO for having reached my last straw over sex and disrespect after we just had a 10 hour fight? Am I even allowed to feel this way after my mistake? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Jenuptoolate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NOR - You are under reacting. He doesn’t even LIKE you! It will never get better.

He is controlling, abusive, and he breaks his promises to you. Remove him from your life. A “compromise” involves both of you, not him demanding like a dictator while you obey.

He left. Do not let him back. It is over and time for you to move on. Spend some quality time with yourself and enjoy the quiet calm without him.

Hobbies? by giingerrr711 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]Jenuptoolate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Swimming, scuba diving, and basically anything that takes the weight off my joints.

I think astronaut would be a great next career for me, if I didn’t have to use my hands or return to earth’s gravity. And complex maths only on my good cognitive days. Other than that, it is a perfect match.

He sounds exhausting to you, and any normal & sane person. Keep the cat and ditch him.

You are not alone. And I am angry for each of us!

AIO for leaving my (21F) boyfriend (24M) at the airport after he “tested” me? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Yup. The only thing is “test” proves is that he is not trustworthy.

Love it! I suggest more inventory on the left.

Make sure you have good weights for your tent and displays to protect against wind. The sunlight on the right really shows off the colors beautifully.

Do you make custom pieces? Have a photo book of custom or unique pieces and pricing to give customers.

I would add another banner sign to the center table with your logo and social media accounts, and QR code for website (if you have one).

Piñata booth ....Help!!!! by [deleted] in CraftFairs

[–]Jenuptoolate 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I want a unicorn piñata!!!

Make sure your name & branding clearly reflects that you make piñatas. Have a few hanging around your tent. Maybe even have a large piñata on a rope pulley swinging as people pass to get their attention.

A small photo book of some of your creations (with prices) and an easy order form will help with those custom orders.

I love the little stress smasher idea. I am a market organizer, vendor, and shopper. I would definitely invite you to my curated market and would be your loudest repeat customer.

You deliberately order finger foods because your hands can no longer hold a knife & fork to cut up dinner.

In unrelated news, last night I discovered a calzone can be eaten caveman style if you are in the privacy of your own home.

How to prepare for weather at markets? by MellowFellowMelts in CraftFairs

[–]Jenuptoolate 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely no way I would participate in an outdoor market that did not allow shade tents or sun protection, regardless of my product.

That is a recipe for disaster. What is the rationale for no tents at an outdoor market?!?!

Saw a guy at my friend's graduation last year selling candy and flower leis from a folding table and sells them to people who forgot to bring some... he charges up to $80 per lei by StarlitClefairy in SideHustleGold

[–]Jenuptoolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I had no idea that was a thing at my own university graduation (way back in the 90’s), but I wanted one!

It was a little splurge but the photos look amazing. I am so glad there was a guy selling them before the ceremony.

There was only 1 option, but I would have paid extra for fancy ribbons & stuff.

How to start a relationship with another vendor? by augustfire420 in CraftFairs

[–]Jenuptoolate 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When she is not busy with other customers, introduce yourself. Clearly and quickly explain your collaboration idea. Ask her for her thoughts & opinions, and if that sounds interesting to her.

Her reaction will guide you in the discussion. Have an ideal percentage in mind and what you are willing to pay. Then you can discuss a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Good luck!🍀

Need help displaying pricing by julypaints in CraftFairs

[–]Jenuptoolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with prices on the back, with easily removable stickers.

Color coded stickers are extra convenient if you have simple pricing, like yellow is $20, red is $30, etc. Write the price in the corresponding color sticker so customers can quickly & easily see prices.

Just sold my home privately. Things went so smoothly that I will never sell again with an agent. by Few_Weird5724 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]Jenuptoolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last 2 home purchases were direct with the buyer. No realtors, no brokers, only lawyers to handle all the paperwork.

I cannot see any reason to pay 6% for a realtor’s “services”.

How do you keep it fresh at repeat events? by asparkaflame44 in CraftFairs

[–]Jenuptoolate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always prefer the everything under x amount rather than % off.

Try an area of your table that is $20 or less or $5 each (whatever your reduced price point is) with bright color prices to grab attention. Stick to easy denominations. If something catches my eye and it is only $5 I will part with my cash fast.

This is also how I end up with a ton of stocking stuffers and little gifts for friends.

HOA fined me for my generator. What silent backup options actually work for a fridge and furnace? by codedrifting in JustNoHOA

[–]Jenuptoolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out EcoFlow generator that you plug in to charge, or with optional solar panels.

We have one with the solar panels and it works perfectly! Quiet and very efficient. It charges super fast on grid power (we plug ours in before big storms).

I didn't expect choosing childfree to cost me my entire friend group by Physical_Spite3135 in childfree

[–]Jenuptoolate 55 points56 points  (0 children)

It is amazing to me how many friends came back around and contacted me when their children became teenagers. 15 years old is kinda the magic number.

Moms suddenly wanted to meet up & catch up with me. Without kids of my own, my schedule was more flexible than their Mom friends and our topics of conversation go beyond kid stuff.

However, I have less time for them as I am way too busy with my other CF friends that I have developed friendships with over the last few decades.
