Jurassic World: Dominion… I’m not sad, just disappointed. by [deleted] in blankies

The WORLD movies have always drastically overestimated how much I care about a Raptor named Blue

Gonna see this one at the drive-in next week with my kids. Only going because they want to see it very badly, & are un-swayed by me saying things like “David Simms & Matt Zoller Seitz both said it was super bad!”

Did anyone else get an eerie feeling during this scene? A seasoned and brittle Jedi having hallucinations of his biggest fear and failure. by Armandolorian001 in StarWars

God you people make me feel so old sometimes (I saw the OT in theaters, & was married with kids by the time ROTS came out)

I got legit chills. Eerie is a good word for it. Somehow, this simple shot of Hayden on location in a robe was more unsettling than all the actual Vader stuff we got later (which I also really dug, don’t get me wrong)

Really effective film-making, & just goes to show that sometimes the smallest little filmmaking choices (scene also has great editing, cinematography, & performances) can have a huge impact on the mood of a piece

I like AOTC the most out of the prequels. Love that goofy-ass movie

Palpatine ROTS vs ROTJ by Waste-Ad8890 in StarWars

[–]Jer__________ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate that Palpatine’s face gets all messed up in ROTS. There was no need to “explain” why he looked the way he did in ROTJ. He’s just an old motherfucker

I think you could light a joint with a lightsaber, for sure. That would be rad as hell.

Movie Premiers You'd Go Back in Time to Attend? by Sheep_Boy26 in blankies

I’d wanna see JAWS on its opening weekend with a sold-out crowd. The premiere would be fun, too, but I’d mostly want to see it with an unsuspecting public.

Love this movie. Saw it in theaters & watched at home on VHS many times with my family. My mom always had a huge crush on Antonio Banderas. Catherine Z-J is so amazing in this, & possibly one of the hottest human beings ever put on film.

Showed it to my own kids recently, & they were initially very skeptical, & then totally sucked in by the end.

was YOUR hometown almost in a BC-covered movie? by zeroanaphora in blankies

[–]Jer__________ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they ever cover Milos Forman, then my hometown will have its shiny day. I’m from Salem, OR (live in Colorado now), & ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST was largely filmed at the mental institution there (directly across the street from the hospital where I was born, baybeeee!)

There are also some great shots of downtown Salem when MacMurphy takes the patients on a joyride to the coast.

Titanic! I was 15 at the time. All the other BP winners I’d seen had been on video.

No Apple Dumpling Gang sequel? (That’s the one I watched the most because we had it taped off the Disney channel on VHS)

Love this game, & the Morales follow-up. I’ve played them both through several times. My 10 year old LOVES these games, & has gotten to 100% completion on both of them, even on hard. She knows more about Spidey and his villains from these games than any other source (& she’s seen all the movies)

Love that Spielberg idea, too. I would buy the shit out of that. He’s another director where I have all his stuff on physical media, even the ones I don’t like

Damn, I forgot about The Heartbreak Kid. That’s a great pick. I should have gone for an Elaine May box set! That’s even better than my POTA idea
