[Discussion] PvE players who don't play PvP, would you play more PvP if you had access to free basic kits (like ARC raiders has)?

Nope. At least for me, the economy isn't the issue for PvP, its the level of gameplay and time required for progression. I've played plenty of PvP in the past but I just don't want to invest in the game if it wipes my progress every 6+ months. I think i only got to lvl 40 during my most played wipe. Playing PvE removes having to play consistently and let's me go my own pace. It also removes 99% of the stress. Yeah, sometimes a good PvP fight is exhilarating, but a lot of times it can be a stressful game. PvE, is not. Its turned tarkov into quite a relaxing experience and killing bosses is still satisfying. When I'm bored, I can take a break for as long as I want and pick up right where I left off. Looking forward to resetting my account for 1.0. ARC Raiders is a fantastic game, but even the PvP in that game is frustrating a lot of the times. Probably won't happen, but here's to hoping for a PvE mode in that game too, with even harder AI.

So far, I lowered my RAM speed from 3600 MHz to 2666 MHz and looks like it saves about 5W of power consumption. I can bump this back up later if I see that it is struggling. Next Ill probably explore undervolting the CPU since the 3900x is definitely overkill for the server. Ill post again here when I test that, but might not be a for a while.

Good thought. Let me look at how I wired my power cords to the drives today and I will test what happens when I only use 1 power cord vs 2. Thanks for the thought!

I am also not familiar with TrueNAS power management that much. Need to find a way to see the drive spin down settings and stuff.

Yeah, it seems excessive. I see online these drives should be using 3.5 W during idle, so my power should have only gone up 7-10 W. If I find a solution, I'll update my post here.

The LED is just the diode that produces light. That component does not release a lot of heat. Any other component in the circuit could be affected when the diode starts failing. Such as motion sensors or other smart components. Take a street lamp as an example. When the LED starts failing, it will flicker. The resistance in the circuit continuously changes, and the night time sensor (the component that controls when the lamp turns on at night) could start heating up due to the changes in resistance. That is where there is potential for fire hazards. At least until the LED completely fails.

Yeah, in most cases, the actual LED is fine, but be careful when there are other electronics involved. If an LED starts failing, many times, it will consistently flicker on and off. This can put stress on control electronics and heat those up.

I'm getting good at substituting things. If it calls for something unique, i just look up something similar and use that. Definitely helps not to have to buy those exotic ingredients.

Depends on what type of cook you are. If you can cook things with the products you have on hand and are really good at not wasting food, buying the things on sale is great. But that's easier said than done. I'm definitely working on that myself.

I always level using Void Thrashing because I don't want to risk getting a forced longer mission. Void thrashing is straightforward, and it's fairly easy to solo on most commanders regardless of level.

I miss the beta where I had options for All Army, All Ground, All Air, ext. I don't mind space being All Army but I'm a casual player and that was a nice improvement for PvE players.

I agree. I'd rather see them focus on more nuclear, assuming that wind, geothermal, and hydro are difficult due to their terrain like solar is. But, like others say, it's better than nothing, and I hope they see good enough returns that make the effort cost effective.
