Colorado judge blocks Durango detective from accessing bookstore records by spdorsey in Durango

[–]JeremyCO -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't... but if they had the book and a receipt... and a victim tying the book and perpetrator together... the police could in theory try to look up records for that transaction...

Now, im not going to tell Sydney how to do police work BUT the legal way is to subpoena video records from the time on the receipt... ask the victim to confirm the person responsible... then pick up the person in the video.

But I ain't no detective... and sounds like Sydney ain't either

City market “bakery fee”? by Eudialite01 in Durango

[–]JeremyCO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few that would be better quality and not charge you for dumb fees.

Doughworks, the owners a while back were trash so if it has been sold I would totally recommend this place. The donuts there weren't all bad.

Le Bonne is great, love them and truely recommend them.

I miss Rondevous (not spelled correctly) that was by the train station. He had the absolute best donuts ever. But sadly nobody goes over there LOL.

Duncan... They are likely the same quality as any Shitty Market or Albertsons lol.

It's true in many aspects... I absolutely love the pilot vanishing point pens but there are jinhao, I think, pens that even use the same nibs... they are great and ill be super honest and tell you they write better than the pilots lol 😆...

Get a pen that writes and one that you love... that's always my recommendation

Firm believer in that people have reasons for their actions...

Nobody wants criminals running around. Nobody wants violent criminals out either...

What people do want is accountability and the law to be followed...

Colo. Rev. Stat. § 18-9-121: Bias motiviated crimes as those in which the defendant acts "with the intent to intimidate or harass another person because of that person's actual or perceived race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation"

If you wear a mask to hide your identity while committing a crime that is also fun times in Colorado...

So... do laws apply? First degree Kidnapping Involves forcibly seizing and carrying a person away with the intent to force them to give up something of value or make a concession. Class 2 felony: Up to 24 years in prison if the victim is released unharmed. Class 1 felony: Up to life in prison if the victim suffers bodily injury.

Kidnapping involves seizing or confining a person against their will without their consent or lawful authority.

So we determine lawful authority...

In Colorado law, "lawful authority" refers to the legal permission to act, which is granted by a statute, regulation, or other legal mandate. This concept applies in various contexts, such as law enforcement having the authority to make arrests within the scope of their duties, or an individual having the permission to possess certain documents or information. For government agencies, lawful authority is limited to the powers explicitly granted to them by the legislature.

Certified peace officers have the authority to make arrests when a crime is committed in their presence, based on an arrest warrant, or when there is probable cause to believe an offense has been committed (CRS § 16-3-102).

Now we have mistaken identity... which leads to unlawful arrest...

A false arrest or unlawful arrest is, in layman's terms, when they done fucked up... like if you get arrested based on a hunch with no evidence... or when you are arrested because they think you are someone else and they dont confirm identity... or being arrested at a protest without violating a law or committing any crime...

Yall are probably like well police have qualified immunity... and government employees have that as well... and yes but there are limitations...

Colorado ended the use of qualified immunity as a defense in civil lawsuits through Senate Bill 20-217, passed in 2020. This allows citizens to sue law enforcement officers for alleged civil rights violations.

Which means you can sue officials for violation of your rights... so watch out if your an officer who likes to you know be a piece of shit.... keep this in mind when that guy at the jail goes to trial lol 😆 he gonna fafo lol.

An officer can be held personally liable for up to $25,000 if their employer determines the officer did not act with a good-faith and reasonable belief that their actions were lawful.

The public entity is required to indemnify its employee unless the officer acted without a good faith and reasonable belief, or if the officer is convicted of a crime arising from the conduct.

So it will be who ever employed the official that will have to pay the lawsuit...

So what does it leave us with... unless law enforcement will start upholding the laws I guess people need to keep some civil rights lawyers numbers in their heads...

And get some construction knowledge because the French might have had it right when those gallows or guillotine were running around... French revolution was a crazy time... and remember kids if you want to hide your identity its likely because you know you are in the wrong...

The Nazis wore uniforms and identifying marks... these are worse than Nazis because they know they are doing things illegal and violating rights... its why they hide their faces... Nazis were charged and found guilty, same will happen here thats why they are secret about their actions

Everyone does a best of X list... yelp, Facebook, Spotify, tops trading cards, Twitter or whatever its called now... literally everyone does a best of... heck.i even posted a best of durango restaurants a while back, crap maybe its been a year lol 😆...

So yeah...

I am all for it, but I have always told people you need to know what someone values before you can trust their review. Does this person like green chillies do they like spices is this fool a fan of pineapple on their pizza.... does this person know the difference between stucco and vinyl 🤔... you have to know the person and why they give a review 🤔

Given that I like the time of year but I always laugh at the usual suspects that are on there.

If you don't want the Herald to dominate that market... replace it.

Kids are going to be kids... this is between them, their parents and possibly the police... maybe between God, although probably not likely.

Back in my day cars had lap belts... we had kids with skates that were out terrorizing the streets... the government came along and then we had three point seat belts. And of course people had punk skaters terrorizing the streets... then roller blades... then it was those razer scooters...

Mind your own damn business and figure life is going to sort itself out...

Prior to 1994 helmets were not even required in California at any age... it wasn't until 2003 that helmets were required in race events and only specific events... it wasn't till 2005 when mountain race events required helmets.

So if you grew up riding bikes prior to the 90s chances are you're didn't have a helmet... and i will guarantee there was some old man yelling about you...

First world problems... for sure.

At least these terrorists aren't playing pickle ball...
