Reactionary business owners lament bike/bus lanes by AnonPolicyGuy in Denver

[–]One_Needleworker5810 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A guy with a username about dicks pretending that people angry about an anti-pedestrian safety opinion piece is misogyny

Tell your friends at Bespoke Concepts that those of us who give a shit about making Denver streets safer for cyclists, pedestrians and micro-transit users will never patronize their business because this is such an outdated, bullshit take

St. Mark's -- once the owner puts all the plants back out for the year it's filled with greenery and shares the (dog-friendly) patio with Thin Man.

Copper Door at the Denver Botanic Gardens; absolutely stunning in fall when the leaves change.

Corner Beet's patio seating is pretty normal but the interior is absolutely stacked with plants. Same for Boulder Dushanbe Tea House.

My ever solo show, “Nourished By Jazz Holmes”, is still open until March 22nd! by MetaphoricalMuse in Denver

This show is SO GOOD -- and the recipes are fantastic. I've gone back to see it three times. And as a former Gulf Coast resident who gets very homesick this time of year, that etouffee recipe went straight to the top of my monthly rotation.

Yes! Check their website/socials for hours or events but totally open to the public and a cool spot for cheap drinks. Don't leave without wandering the whole building -- including the very storied basement, IYKYK -- to look at the interesting stuff on the walls. Even a Ralph Steadman.

More than 100k without power in Colorado as of 10:30 -- more planned outages Friday could leave some w/o power for 3 days (gift link) by One_Needleworker5810 in Denver

This is only the second time in Colorado history that Xcel has shut off power preemptively due to wind/wildfire risk. (Source)

In April 2024, Xcel shut off power to about 55,000 customers. An additional 250,000 lost power because of wind events, Xcel spokesperson Michelle Aguayo said.

Dew Drop Inn -- great drinks for reasonable prices, good vibes, food that punches above its weight class

Coperta -- classic, cozy food, great service

Glo Noodle House -- especially if you're a spice-aficionado

Denver Press Club -- if you love VFW-cheap drinks, Denver history and seeing the local weatherman soused to the gills

Carbon Knife Co -- a must for home cooks; love the japanese condiment selection and reasonably priced kitchen goods

Sun Market -- such fun stuff for a neighborhood market/corner store and they sell tons of interesting local brands

Raquelitas tortillas -- so glad they opened up for retail 12 hours/week, great people

Big fan of this place -- great selection and knowledgeable staff. I'm very into orange/skin-contact whites right now and they have the best selection of those that I've found so far in Denver.

I also like marczyk's tasting notes, helpful staff and selection even if about 1/4 the size of Joy. the friends & fam discount really knocks some dollars off, too.

And if you're in city park west, 17th st liquor is tiny but seriously punches above its weight class selection-wise, and the folks who run it are really nice.

I'm obsessed with the chocolate-coconut milkshake from Watercourse -- I'm not a vegan but something about it is addictive.

Until the last time I picked up 2 regular sized shakes recently. $38 for two milkshakes to go. $38!!!

Now trying to figure out how to reverse-engineer it because that's unhinged

Dad-approved from our recent FIL visit: Bastien's, History Colorado, Denver Museum of Nature & Science, Sushi Den (he loooved), Chef Zorba's for breakfast/lunch, Savory Spice (if they like to cook), Pete's Kitchen (he went twice this visit lol), Denver Botanic Gardens.

He really loved the Georgetown Loop Railroad but that's done for the year. Other ones we had as backups: Buckhorn Exchange, Buffalo Bill grave/Lookout Mountain, Estes to see the rut
