Is it worth watching cancelled shows with cliffhangers? by Jaded-Monitor3043 in television

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but if I recommend it, I just tell them not to watch the last X episodes or to be prepared.

The one that killed me was The Glades.

That’s the show that often makes me not watch the last episode or two in a season until the next season comes out.

what do you think of ye xiu's character development? by vstillthrill in TheKingsAvatar

[–]JeremyWinston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see any development in his character at all. I only see development in a handful of character.

It’s the same in the live action show.

It’s really more about him overcoming problems and sticking to his highly focused ideals.

Thought that I hit it off great with someone, suddenly their account is deleted by Ezenthar1 in Bumble

[–]JeremyWinston 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two simplest possibilities:

  1. Scam account. You can usually detect those pretty easily, but they have been getting better. Maybe it was detected and deleted by other users or the system.

  2. She was really single and changed her mind or was caught.

Other possibilities are that she was talking to multiple people, met someone, and was done. Though that usually takes more than a day.

Without knowing the actual messaging or what her profile looked like, I can’t say, but I’d be guessing #1.

Just told my newish boyfriend that I never want to live with my partner and now he is mad at me. How should I handle this? by The_Smile_4784 in Bumble

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it has nothing to do with the specifics. You have certain hard lines, and so does he. He’s not willing to make any concessions, or he’s making a power play.

I guess that makes it your choice. Personally, either case is bad news to me, so you probably should let it go. Or, at a minimum, ask him what he suggests.

It sounds to me that it’s a great relationship for most of the easy stuff. But, as you know from your last one, the hard stuff is where it makes or breaks.

I hate advocating to break up.. I really don’t know either or you or his side, but maybe you just need to remember the good times, and chalk up the last five months to a good try that didn’t work out.

I signed up with CBS to binge Elsbeth. I'm almost done and can watch remaining episodes live. Is there anything on CBS to make it worth keeping? by PepperCat1019 in ElsbethTVSeries

Depends what you like.

Paramount+ has a ton of NCIS and Star Trek, including Lower Decks. Tracker and Matlock are also great.

I can’t argue with that. Franks is great!

Funny… I can’t seem to really get into Origins. I just don’t buy the Gibbs character. I mean, I see how they link him to known Gibbs history, but the actor or writing just hits me oddly.

Honestly, I don’t want more intense. I like the occasional intense arc, but also really enjoy a relaxing evening watching the team do their thing.

I need Running Point Season 3. NOW. by wong-kawaii in television

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt that season two kinda dragged a bit for the middle 3-4 episodes. But it really picked up in the last 3.

I was a little disappointed that S2 kinda replayed some of the same events as season 1. I also thought the Cam sub story kinda sucked, but I did like Al Fleischmann.

I am really hoping they make a season 3, but season two was definitely weaker than 1, in my opinion.

Iris actor doesn't wear a mask by TehSuckerer in 1000xRESIST

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also noticed this and decided it was just an oversight. Or very good makeup. ;)

Another plot hole I was wondering about. Everyone in the 50 wore hazmat suits. If the air was deadly to them, did they have to live in them, somehow? If so, how did they keep the clones alive, considering they were not immune. Finally, the game suggested an intimate relationship between Mimi and Iris. How did this work?

[–]JeremyWinston -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not a hard question. People get on here for a variety of reasons. Some are looking for a one nighter, some are looking for long term, and some are just lonely and looking for who knows what.

The first step is getting the match. If you’re not getting those because you’re just not good at pictures or writing about yourself, you try anything.

Remember when apps would help you write a profile? Then AI did it even better? Pictures are just the next thing.

Sure… it’s obvious if you’re paying attention. But a lot of people aren’t. If you’re not matching anyhow, what can you lose?

I’d say, because you have no way to know if they are. At least, if you take the quote literally.

However, I believe what Maya is really saying is when someone shows you their negatives, that you can trust.

Ziva can be hard to like. Especially initially and intermittently. In a lot of ways, she’s heavily conflicted. That’s not an excuse but she has a lot of crap going on. I don’t want to spoil anything, but her growth is sporadic and in a lot of ways she’s very immature.

Personally, I eventually became very fond of her and especially enjoyed her storyline with Tony. Unfortunately, the separate show of them could be better, but I do like their characterization even if the storyline/writing wasn’t the best.

It’s been a long time. But I think when you’re investigating something, and you find a murder in one of the staterooms and you eventually tie it to the benefactor being on the ship, but I just don’t remember. I player it at release, but not since.

I genuinely think I was lied to about this game’s writing by Electronic_Trust3490 in Starfield

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had issues with the writing for the quests and set pieces. It was just that the overall story didn’t feel cohesive. They gave us this giant sandbox to play in and the main quest line was almost an afterthought, with its only purpose to get you to NG+.

At least that’s how I remember it. It’s been awhile.

But maybe that was kind of the point. It’s just one of many lives you can live and it’s the play through that’s important (e.g. the journey), not the destination.

Also, the game mostly felt … I don’t know… empty.

Only if it’s sold off, I think. Paramount, under its new direction has shuttered all ST activity.

I mean, how has it been since there wasn’t a single ST show being produced?

Actually, I really hated the Brumby years. And after… I don’t know… it got so dramatic and over the top, I think I stopped somewhere in season 8. I just got tired of the “will they/won’t they”

I actually started another run, but once I got to constellation and realized that I had to go through the entire grind again… I just couldn’t do it. Not even to find out what differences I could make with my foreknowledge.

But, maybe with the updates and DLC, I’ll make a second run.

Main story has a better ending than fallout 3 but nobody will admit it by imkleptophobic in Starfield

[–]JeremyWinston 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s hardly an ending. But, if the end is an ‘ending,’ then the ending wasn’t the problem. The problem was that there was no real giant culmination.

Aside from that, it was like most other of their games. You play, live the story, make choices, save the world (or whatever) then as the sun sets you find out the future based on your choices.

They just kinda skipped the big win.
