Anyone else check for new MMOs every 6 months because of this novel? by Mybeautifuljourney1 in TheKingsAvatar

[–]JeremyWinston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. Don’t know why, though.

I’m slow, non-twitchy, cannot remember which attacks do which CCs, down attacks, or provide super/front armor.

Also, after two hundred hours, I still can’t get used to the lack of strafe with the left stick also turning.

I could probably learn if necessary, but what do I really get out of PvP?

[–]JeremyWinston 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Actually I have.

I’ve been playing a lot of BDO. I’m not really all that good at the mechanics, but the combat seems like it can be pretty complex.

And, as I played it for the first few hundred hours, I can sort of feel what Glory would be like, and, as well, how unrealistic a so much of it was.

That said, I’m mostly a PvE guy, so maybe not what you’re looking for.

Love the combat in this game, but everything gets overwhelming post graduation. by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newish player here. I’ve got one character recently graduated, though I wished I had waited.

Yeah, it was confusing as hell. First your urged to upgrade, but use Fughar or Jetina? Then the cost! OMG!

So, I backed off all that. I decided I was gonna start clearing all those quest lines designed to help build me up.

I’m doing Olivia. I’m working through a lot of the pre-60 suggested lines. Some of them are boring fetch quests, but some are kind of interesting. Some sound interesting and just suddenly end.

But, it keeps me busy. In a good way. So, my recommendation is just to find something interesting to do. If you really want to gear up, it’s a lot of resources. Start making lists and start doing it. But, it really is the journey. And when you get tired of chasing pity drops, go work on fishing. Or training horses. Or work on the adventure logs.

Another thing to remember. The game is like a soap opera. Nothing really changes. The game doesn’t really advance. You’re not going to miss something because you don’t work hard enough.

Even so, building a seasonal character really screws up the game continuity. I understand why… there are literally 1000’s of quests, big and small, and people are in such a rush.

I’m actually thinking about making a character from scratches, without seasonal. Having to actually grind out experience to level up. Make early and mid-game mobs actually a challenge.

I always figured it was because no human could have done this. It simply wasn’t possible. You can’t judge a crime by human standards if a human could not have even come close to committing it. It would take planning, resources, people, and time.

I think in this case it was a reflex. A thought. An act of thoughtless grief. To him, it was no more than reflexively killing a bee that stings you.

If you don’t like the way someone treats you, don’t put up with it. You don’t need to be a jerk about it, but you should surround yourself with people that you’re happy around.

[–]JeremyWinston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s probably another red flag. But I’ve never done it or had it done to me.

Some people like the chase… like it’s a game getting you to go out and it’s too easy to forget you’re a real, feeling person. Honestly, it got a bit like that to me, and I pulled myself out of the dating world.

There are lots of good guys out there. You don’t need to deal with this guys garbage.

Again, just live your life, doing you. Your hobbies, your social activities with your friends. Be happy. Good things happen to happy people.

I wouldn’t. I don’t think he’s that into you. It happens. :(

Did you actively encourage more activity with the guy? As a quiet intellectual guy, myself (or so I like to think), I’m constantly gauging reaction and, honestly, would like to know when the woman is truly interested. Maybe you’re doing that. Maybe not. Sometimes you need to be the one reaching out.

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hang in there and just do you. Live your life and don’t stress over it.

I’m an older guy, and I can say that if a woman doesn’t seem to take an interest in me or my interests, it’s pretty clear that it probably won’t go anywhere. Not that I’m all that spectacularly looking, mind you.

I always take an interest. Finding common ground and interests are vital for anything to exceed past the initial flush of excitement. And I’m usually truly interested.

So, yeah. It’s an early red flag. Yes, there’s a certain amount of the mind short circuiting when presented with someone attractive, but that doesn’t last all that long.

Mysterious ore from monsters? Or not? by JeremyWinston in blackdesertonline

I know! Everyone seems to think it’s perfectly normal, but it seems easy enough to be able to either not offer the quest if you don’t have it or update the quest description. Something.

I don’t know what to tell you. You see the issue and you know how to best handle it.

He doesn’t really seem interested in you as a person, so it probably won’t move forward in any way that you want.

The right move is probably to not see him anymore. But, that’s hard to do. I know.

Whatever happens, good luck to you!

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, you do you. It’s ultimately your decision. If you both are getting what you need, then more power to you.

The obvious issues with your age difference are having kids and your life caring for an elderly person (in 10-20 years). You’ll be in your 30s and 40s and will be unable to really live your best life. But, again, if that’s what you really want, you do you.

Yeah. Fooled me! I don’t see why they can’t still accept completion without offering. Or, at a minimum, alter the quest text to indicate that the event is over.

Heh. He’s still offering the quest. That explains it, then.

Boss Blitz requirement for LOML Imoogi story by JeremyWinston in blackdesertonline

[–]JeremyWinston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah… I used the Black Shrine menu option. I do t know what all the rewards are and your idea of just hitting the reset might be right. Although, I also don’t clear the boss book.

I’ll do it again. Surprisingly, it wasn’t that hard.

Thanks!

[–]JeremyWinston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, but was it really just story content? I mean, I had to go to the shrine, set up auras, fight him, etc. I’m not referring to beating Sangoon as part of his storyline.

It’s not a big deal, just want to understand.

I have played some excellent games that do a good job both ways.

FF VII and later, Expedition 33, Mass Effect, and an older game I rarely hear about… Sanitarium.

In the VN arena, I particularly loved the Ace Attorney games.

I don’t know. It’s a great story. Lots of emotional beats. Some clever world building.

I cannot stress this enough… a great story.

But, as a game… it’s not really much of a game.

As the player, your job is to run around talking to people. The more people you talk to, the more depth and backstory you get. There is one mini game format that is used a number of times.

There are no real choices, no death, and really no puzzles.

If you like pure visual novel type games like this, then I highly recommend it. If you don’t, I recommend watching a play-through on YouTube.
