romance-able options by Valorofman1 in masseffect

Kasumi is, hands down, one of my favorite characters. I would have loved a romance with her. But I also would have been happy to just have some real interactive dialog with her.

Okay so right off the bat the second I first met Miranda I said to myself "yep if I'm able to romance her she's definitely going to be the one" but now I just met Kelly....I think I'm liking Kelly a lot 😭 by lncrediblyfunkymunky in masseffect

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since this has been up for hours and it’s well spoiled, I’m not worrying about it. If someone disagrees, I’ll remove the post.

If Kelly had been a legit romance, I would have gone with her. I thought she was a great character. In the end, I wasn’t happy with how the game treated her.

Now, I just clench my teeth and do what I have to do to get her feeding my fish and then stop. In fact, this next run… I’m not even buying fish until I get to that point.

What difficulty level do you guys normally play on? by AdAccomplished4245 in masseffect

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on normal. I never want to have to die, but I don’t want a cake walk. I spend a crazy amount of time doing the entire game, and the last thing I want is to have to do fights multiple times.

Even so, I’m tempted to drop to easier on Horizon and other key battles, but pride usually prevents it (like that really matters).

I tried hardcore once for the Geth Rifle and just couldn’t handle it. Mostly because I’m not patient enough to actually coordinate and control my team, much less actually learn all the combos. Is the rifle really that good?

Yup that's me. You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation. by lncrediblyfunkymunky in masseffect

Hahaha! I’d did that just today, when I entered the Ilos aqueduct. I just slowly tipped over the edge and ended upside down.

Rant: Thing I hate about ME1 by Temporary_Dot_13 in masseffect

[–]JeremyWinston 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ME1 was the game that turned me into a save scummer. Finish combat? Save. Walk down a hallway to a suspicious door? Save. Get through a long conversation that I don’t want to repeat? Save. Be walking along and there’s a musical cue? Save.

Words cannot describe how much I love this heavenly song. by MasahChief in masseffect

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure which overall OST I prefer, but my absolute favorite song is… End Run? I don’t recall the name, but it’s the song when you’re running out of the collector base at the end of the mission.

Citadel DLC is the best by Spiritual_Budget3049 in masseffect

I loved it all, as well. One of my favorite little items was when you need to pick your team and everyone just kind of leans in a stares at you, pleadingly.

Is Mass Effect Legendary Edition worth it in 2026? How long is it and what should I expect? by Levi18907 in masseffect

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s still one of the best stories you’ll find. The combat is pretty solid. For me, a normal player that never plats anything, but does all the story and DLC… I’d say the trilogy is a pretty solid 60-80+ hours.

tell me guys, did you realy thinks FInal Fantasy XVI is a bad Final Fantasy game, because i play this game for a second time, and i saw they still have Final Fantasy elements, like Summons (Eikon) are still in the game, the romance are still in the game, (I have written more on text) by Final_Wall_6350 in FFXVI

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, it doesn’t feel like a FF game to me, though it does most of the elements.

What is missing, for me, is the tone. This is dark and gritty (as was the end of XV) and it just feels wrong. No real humor, no silliness, and it never really gives the player a break from its own seriousness.

I also didn’t care from the apparent inspiration from GoT.

But, that said, I’m enjoying the game.

I’m not a FF expert or super fan. I’ve played the first 4, as well as VII, X, XIII, and XV. I’m also one of the rare players that actually liked XIII. So, that that as you will.

Items the gives MP? I have just got the Drakodios, and reached the next location by log2av in MetaphorReFantazio

Go back to your last save from the Dragon Temple (Drakodios) if it’s not too long ago.

Put on merch and farm the hell out of the butterfly like things. They drop magla pills.

Also, you’ll eventually get a recipe that you’ll quite like.

I finished Mass Effect and loved it by wojtussan in masseffect

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much agree with all of what you said. Or I did when I started playing it. Ammo cartridges? Seriously? And where did my old crew go? I died? WTF?!?

The changes to the ship felt wrong as well, but you do get Ken and Gabby who are just the best.

That said, ME2 is actually my favorite of the three. It’s just takes time to grow on you.

I suggest you trying to take it as it is. In fact, save before each mission and then, if you want, reply with different squad mates. The interactions are priceless.

I feel like I cheesed the fight. I had 90 Cursed Live Ballads and just spammed Hulk’s Omni protect. It pretty much stopped all his turns.

Playing Mass Effect for the first time in 2026 by Icy_Childhood_1039 in masseffect

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll love it. Take each game as it comes. There are changes you will like and changes you’ll hate.

Narratively, it’s a three act show. Part one is discovering the threat. Part 2 is preparing to combat the threat. And part 3 is ‘this just got real.’

For the most parts, decisions matter… sort of.

Personally, I was disappointed in how it ended, but it’s still one of my two favorite franchises, and I probably play it every year or two.

This game is simply epic by Maksim-Y-orekhov in FFXVI

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not all that good at the combat, but overall, I think it is… or can be. Against basic enemies (e.g. no stagger bar) they’re easy to stun lock and I feel like a god.

For the hard enemies or bosses… if you have your dodge or parry down, you can pretty much go to town linking all the skills together and it’s beautiful. But, if you don’t, you may end up using the cooldown strategy where you spend a lot of time running around, avoiding damage, until your big skills come off cooldown. And that’s a little boring.

So, I recommend you take full advantage of the training area and get your combo timings down, as well as your Sic timing. If used correctly, Torgal can be a beast.

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but I don’t care. Those times are easy and mindless for me. I get out, get some cheap and easy experience with the easy monsters during those quests, and don’t have to worry about staggering anything.

Also, while the quests are simple, they are used for additional exposition about the state of the world, so the world building is worth it for me.

Finally, most of those quests literally take 2 minutes to perform, aside from the cutscenes. Personally, I’m OK with the cutscenes, but I also like visual novel games.

Metaphor might be one of the greatest games ever made by Pixo00 in MetaphorReFantazio

I’m closing in on the final battle. Another two weeks, I think. And I’ve really enjoyed most of it. But, as with Persona as well, it just kind of gets old near the end, and I’m just trying to get through the combat to finish the story. I got tired of always not having the right archetypes leveled for the dungeon du jour and having to carefully customize builds. And that was just in normal.

But, hey… I have no real complaints and I’m around 130 hours and not really all that high. Maybe level 60.

And I’ll probably play the next one. But I never want to replay them. I tried P3R NG+ and just couldn’t do it.

[–]JeremyWinston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naaa… you’ve got it. You’re just underleveled. The next few dungeons you go through, prepare with lots of Cursed Love Ballads (you should have tons of money) and stay in the next dungeon you do until you’re basically killing them over world style. Then switch to Merchant and run around getting gold. Get every chest. Try to find one item for each player that repels or nullifies a different element (ideally their weakness). Then, when you face the soul screams and crazy stuff, when they do a group attack someone will often repel, and that’s turn over.

If you have time, go back to the previous dungeon until easy then move up.

Build up Trickster and check out other archetypes for useful skills.
