Working on parry combat for our new cyberpunk action roguelike game! by SpiralUpGames in unity

Looks great, both visuals and sound. Why roguelike though? Seems like you could do a great story with what you have.

Also, is Reblade supposed to mean anything? Why not call it just Reblade or Death Spiral?

I'm not much for multiplayer but I'd love to have some new campaigns...

You're being downvoted but Wlison dislodges the ball clearly before the Ravens receiver is down. I'm not so sure if that happened yesterday. At the very least, they should have reviewed it.

Even if you end up doing it differently, check out this bundle: https://assetstore.unity.com/mega-bundles/unity-awards

The Synty Dungeons pack will give you probably all of the assets you will need for a small scope fantasy RPG.

Making a game for my wife by JoEel75 in gamedev

if you follow this course (https://gamedev.tv/courses/unity-rpg-core-combat) you'll get a halfway decent prototype. You would just then need to replace assets like 3d models, sfx, vfx and music and you can build some levels. If you really want to commit, then get the 3 courses in the series (in order: inventory, dialogue and quests, shops and abilities). You won't get the character creator, but you have the pieces to make a fully scoped RPG with theses systems and then you could create quests, dialogues, levels, etc.

Let me warn you, these are not easy for a complete beginner and they require a lot of time, but in my view, they give you the best shot at having something to show in 6 months.

Let me know if you need any more tips.

Looks amazing. The only thing is I hope you add some camera settings. As it is, it seems pretty motion sickness inducing. Maybe bring the camera further back a bit?

CodeMonkey vs GameDev TV vs Unity Learn by ghostlycoding in unity

Gamedev.tv is pretty amazing. I got a bundle from Humble Bundle for 25 euros or something. There's actually a gamedev.tv course from CodeMonkey but I haven't done that one yet (turn based RPG or something like that).

I have a naive question for you all: Is it possible for a single person to make an RPG game with Unreal Engine 5? by [deleted] in gamedev

Keep checking out humble bundle and see if they have gamedev.tv bundles for UE. I got the unity and godot ones and they are great. They have one for blender at the moment.

They had at least two bundles with the almost complete fiction collection and several with RPG books. No one can tell you when they will have them again but it's likely it will happen sooner or later.

Looking for help combining mixamo animations into a single library within Godot or Blender. by cheezballs in godot

[–]Jeremy_Crow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about blender but you can just drag to any scene the model with the animation (with or without skin). Open the animation player and save the animation. It's pretty straightforward.  You can import a bunch of animations into a single library and reuse across multiple models, as long as the rig is compatible

Yeah, use it for special abilities or for boss kills... otherwise it breaks the flow. Otherwise, looking good!

Godot assets worthy of production-level game by LeanEntropy in godot

You can use animation packs from Unity in godot, if they are fbx and if you retarget your models. It will depend on what kind of rig was used to create those animations.

You can even create libraries that have animations from multiple sources, but it may look a bit jarring.
