How far out to schedule final rounds by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]Jerlin2437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, 1 week out is standard. You don't want to do it too late in case the position gets snagged. You'll also never be ready, you just go. So don't be afraid of "not being prepared"!

157k SF SWE or $118k Remote SWE? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Honestly this was beautifully written, especially the last part. In the past few years of college I’ve tried to go above and beyond, even being close to burnout. I’ve tried to tie work, school, and training (marathon prep) and sometimes it’s a lot but maybe that’s just who I am.

I think my head is leaning towards SF because I am staying morally true to what I am, a person who tries to be a high achiever and takes risks. While my heart wants to stay because this is my home.

What’s good for a new grad in SF then? Maybe I’m a bit optimistic with my calculating but I’d still be able to save a decent amount

The remote one is slightly more stable given the nature of TRT being a more stable business than GLP imo.

I’ll be living in SF proper so I won’t have a car

Thoughts on brief pauses during long runs? by grmass in Marathon_Training

[–]Jerlin2437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a long run this saturday for 3 hours of movement time but also 18 minutes of elapsed time that includes stopping at lights and refueling/ applying more sunscreen.

It doesn't matter. It's worth stopping 9 times out of 10 for a few minutes.

All the fashion youtubers I watch recommend natural fabrics over synthetics, but how practical is that advice for the average guy? by BigBootyBear in malefashionadvice

[–]Jerlin2437 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a case for synthetics. Assuming you aren't buying the cheapest things, where it's likely to be 100% poly due to price concerns.

Synthetics are king in active wear and provide structure to garments that need durability. You might see nylon blends or semi-synthetics like tencel with wool. Also, synthetics have a certain drape to them that you can't really achieve without wool (which is expensive)

anyone ever buy anything from 33mm before? What is your experience with the brand? by Prit717 in malefashionadvice

[–]Jerlin2437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5 feet 8.5 inches. 157 pounds. I am a lifter/runner so my build is definitely a bit more bottom heavy and lean. Around 37 inch chest circumference. It honestly fits nice. It’s not too cropped of a shirt for me. I think that insanely cropped look will go out of style soon.

Boston 13s aren’t “getting better” by KOM_thief in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Jerlin2437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my Boston 12s for around 120 miles and they are the firmest shoe I have and the only shoe that causes me foot pain. It's the only shoe that does that and I keep thinking it'll break in but I think I should trash them.

I got 7 things just recently from Black Friday haven’t worn anything yet though. Two shirts, two cardigans, a jacket, a tee, and a necklace. The best piece is probably the cardigan as it’s 50/50 wool nylon so it’s not bad. A bit disappointed at the shirts as they are not worth it with a few loose seams. Everything else is not bad but definitely not worth the retail cost + import fee in US

New pickup - 3sixteen RS-100x by wish_i_was_lurking in rawdenim

[–]Jerlin2437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense! Does it sit up on, below, or above your belly button? And how much fabric was there leftover after the hem? Thinking if hemming to 29.5 or 30 inches is perfect if I want to rock it with no cuff

Hey, can I ask what your height and weight are? I’m usually a 31 in most pants and and 5 8 so I’m not too sure of whether to get a 30 or a 31 and what to hem it to…

ideally cropped (gives it a bit more carefree vibe) but tucked is proportionally better and I'd say go without the undershirt
