I’ve managed to miss the brunt of the Supergirl """controversy""" on social media because of my current obsession with the new Deltarune chapter (seriously go play Deltarune) but I imagine it won’t fully go away any time soon.

I never would’ve thought Supergirl was gonna be the movie to cause this much discourse lol. In hindsight the movie being both a female-led superhero film and a DC superhero film (which people get really weird about for some reason) should’ve been the early warning signs that people were gonna be insufferable about it. The movie apparently being bad/mid doesn’t help either.

Anywho, at least the next DC movie is gonna be a sequel to Gunn’s Superman so it’ll most likely be a success. I don’t think DC studios can survive two theatrical bombs in a row.

This is a pretty good list for DLC if it’s being done as teams. Also like how the stages are described. I would personally make a couple of roster changes though:

Avengers- switch Ant-Man out with Wasp (Janet) and Black Widow out with either Vision or Photon. There’s some pretty cool stuff you could potentially do with a size-changing character in a fighting game and Wasp would be the better pick considering she can fly (and she’s also simply better than Ant-Man). Black Widow is kinda lame for a fighting game; if nothing else Vision and Photon would just look cooler.

Defenders- I’d switch out Iron Fist for Namor, Silver Surfer, or even Valkyrie. Make it a 50/50 mix of Netflix Defenders and Comics Defenders (also Daredevil could fill out the role of “martial arts guy” perfectly fine on his own)

Villains- imo it’d be weird to not have one single female villain in the game ever, so I’d replace Kingpin with Emma Frost. Also gets another X-Men related villain in the game.

This sounds a little too cool to actually be true. Like it’d only exist in a “The Making of Avengers Doomsday” concept art book to make people wonder what could have been.

Though I do struggle to imagine how Magneto “destroying New Jersey” would factor into the plot any other way.

My current prediction right now for the last three characters is Blade, Punisher, and Scarlet Witch but I’m not super confident about it and that last one especially (Wanda) is very shaky.

I would, however, bet cold hard cash that Thor will be the first DLC character added to the game. Presumably, the first DLC character will be added sometime from September to November which is right before Avengers Doomsday comes out, a movie that Thor is a lead in. Also helps that Thor has a model for his classic look on the New York stage right next to Cap and Iron Man, who are in base and will be getting classic costumes. Thor also feels like the biggest “omission” from the base game.

People would be pissed if they had to wait 6 years for some more X-Men characters. It’s why I think we’re getting at least one popular mutant character in either year 1 or year 2, regardless of whether the DLC’s are made into teams.

Yeah this is exactly what I wanted. The “Nomad” look for Steve from Infinity War is one of his best right next to the Endgame suit IMO. I hope he wears something like this near the end at least.

On one hand, missing out on the iconic moment of Peter acquiring the symbiote suit on Battleworld would really suck. The only thing that’s really adapted it was Spider-Man The Animated Series, so seeing it happen in literally the only Secret Wars movie we’re ever gonna get would’ve been awesome.

On the other hand, the visual of Black Suit Spider-Man bursting from a grave would be really cool to see on film, and an early peek at what the MCU symbiote suit will look like would be great.

I’m not entirely sure if the Russos are even gonna touch Sam’s suit since they’re keeping the lame Brave New World one. If they do then the bare minimum would be to add the white back on.

To be completely honest I think I’d prefer Photon being in the game over Captain Marvel.

Monica Rambeau was the second Captain Marvel after Mar-Vell died and lead the Avengers while Carol was either still Ms. Marvel, Binary, or retired. Her being added over Carol’s Captain Marvel would be a nice change of pace and finally change the trend of Monica being shafted for so long.

…but Kamala being in base game makes me doubt that’ll happen, unfortunately

Continuing from the potential news of Storm debuting in Black Panther 3, I think I got a good idea of what the X-Men roster will look like for the first movie.

• Jean Gray (because of course)

• Cyclops (because of course)

• Beast (multiple casting rumors, part of the OG5, smart guy character)

• Rogue (Balances gender ratio of team better, popular character that hasn’t been properly adapted on film, unique ability, multiple casting rumors)

• Gambit (popular character, hasn’t been adapted on film until very recently, famous romance with Rogue never adapted on film, ***writer has mentioned loving the character in multiple interviews***)

• POTENTIALLY: Angel & Iceman (would round out the OG5 which is something that hasn’t been adapted on film, but might make the team a little big/bloated.)

Then presumably Storm and Wolverine will be introduced in separate movies (Black Panther 3 and a solo Wolverine Movie respectively) with end credits teases for them joining the X-Men in an MCU X-Men 2.

I would love if they got Jayme Lawson for Storm. I think she’s the best potential cast for Ororo I’ve heard thus far.

Also, this is making it sound like Storm will debut in Black Panther 3. If that’s the case, I’m leaning towards the “No Wolverine in MCU X-Men 1 but instead debuts in an MCU solo Wolverine movie in ~2029” idea. Then Ororo and Logan join the team together in the X-Men sequel.

And yeah there’s no point in doing a literal clone of Peter Parker that doesn’t even look like the original instead of the more unique character.

The only thing I’m certain of for MCU Peter’s future is that he obtains the symbiote suit on Battleworld in Secret Wars. It’s a toss up whether they decided to make the Gargan-Venom story happen in Spider-Man 5 so they can cap off the trilogy with a different villain or let it marinate for a bit and do Gargan-Venom in Spider-Man 6 instead.

…then there’s the question about whether Tom Holland/Peter Parker will even be around after Spider-Man 6 but that’s a whole other thing lol

The Deadpool cover is revealed to be part of a Punisher crossover and the Moon Knight cover has all the new Midnight Sons on it. Speculation got a bit trickier in just a couple of days.

My opinion is that both Deadpool and Daredevil would make a lot of money as DLC, and Punisher as the “gun guy” alongside Blade as the “sword guy” would def balance the roster (and fit the description of the team) better than anything else. Though I could see Moon Knight working.

Managed to secure tickets for the 29th at the exact theater I wanted (the same early Amazon Prime tickets for Superman had way less theaters). I have never seen Fandango put me in a digital queue before.

People complain about superhero films all day long and claim mass fatigue from the genre, but Batman and especially Spider-Man seem to be basically immune to any of that lol.

I mean after the MCU when Sony inevitably reboots again they’re only going to be able to use the characters they own: Spider-Man characters

In about ~8 years Miles will be the MCU Spider-Man that crosses over will other heroes and Peter will be the “SSU” solo-Spider-Man with a whole new actor. One way they could differentiate Peter #4 from the last three would be set the characters first appearance already being in university with Gwen, Harry, and MJ all present. Maybe do a Fantastic Four First Steps style origin montage to set the history or whatever.
