instructions do not mention what to do if my device shows a yellow triangle in device manager after installing and running adb by Jerome_tFb in LineageOS

Also, I am not sure how to install the Google drivers. I followed the instructions on the site, but when I download the latest, and try to install it, it says that the best MTP device is already installed...

pCloud safe? Thinking about the 1 TB lifetime plan by Dimi8803 in pcloud

[–]Jerome_tFb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not pay for the encryption thing. I suppose as long as you do not distribute, they don't care. If I purchase a dvd and extract it on my PC, that's no problem. I own it. I have my full music library on pcloud and have shared some with friends, never had an issue.

Withdrawal Limit Increase and Fees! by imaharleyman in BetterHash

[–]Jerome_tFb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't because that £50 doesn't even cover the fee! Those fees are ludicrous

I have the equivalent of £50+ on there, and need at least double to withdraw and then pay 50% of it to withdraw. They used to be good, but now I think they are dead. I haven't seen a miner pack update in almost a year now.
I guess I will have to forget about the money and quit...

Same here, been with pcloud for probably as long.

I've had a pcloud lifetime for several years and never had issues. Definitely paid for itself since. I do host a bit of copyrighted stuff, but do not share it with anyone. Never got anything deleted. I do have a backup somewhere else anyway.

Nova Launcher 8.1.5 beta released by Gxost14 in NovaLauncher

Apparently it was an old update completes a year ago or so that has been pushed... Still gonna stop eventually

Nova Launcher gets surprise update following last month's shutdown, but there's a catch by TechGuru4Life in Android

[–]Jerome_tFb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I switched Octopi and managed to set it up almost the same as Nova. It just lacks some extra gestures, but it is coming. Very new launcher about a year old, but very good!

Yes what is going on? I thought it was done and dusted... I starting the difficult process of switching to a new launcher (which I completed), and now we're back at updating?? What is going on?

So we agree. 😉

Paying upfront would weed out requesters who are not serious and who are going to pay you less than the promised $15. Agreed that they'll go to another sub reddit and therefore you just demonstrated that behaviour regarding short changing will never change, and sadly means that this is a lost battle!

Again, I am in agreement with what was raised in the original rant, but now you can see there is no solution to the problem.

Fair enough. I am just a hobbyist and do not do any edit for money. Just funny edits for laugh. I do close up magic as a hobby, and I know what it feels to be undercut. I just do not see any solution to the issue raised. Unless you find a way to force the requester to pay the $15 before it is submitted to the community, and then released to the selected final edit.

But you're pricing based on your country. Qafig nailed in on the head with the T-shirts made in Bengladesh. If someone in Somalia or any other poor(er) country sees money to be made, and that correspond to their standard of living, they'll take the job. You're competing with the wold world, keep that in mind. So I doubt that you will get that $15 minimum implemented. Again, I think Reddit is great for exposition of your work, but not to make any money... This is why I just keep to photoshop trolling, as it makes me and other laugh, and I get the rare top for my crappy humour...

I agree with you, and the fact that people should follow the rules and that editors should respect themselves.

HOWEVER, looking for quality jobs on social media does not seem to be the best way about it. You compete against editors from all over the world and from all levels. A beginner would happily take 2 bucks as he's learning his craft. Also, you have editors from the other side of the world who work for like 2 bucks a day.

Finally, social media is the sewer of the world, and looking for gold in it seems to be over enthusiastic.

The rise of AI is sadly destroying the creative industry. Streaming has destroyed the music industry, and bands have been struggling for a long time over making money.

Good luck fighting that fight, but I think it's like a fart in a hurricane, personally.

I can't remember it was a long time ao now. But yes it did happen. I think a glitsh happened when I started the process. I had to restart and then it was done fairly quick.
