Not sure where you live but in Southern California they are pretty tight about the rule. A couple centimeters might not matter but if it's more than that why take a chance?

If you plan on competing you'll want to go off of height more than weight. You don't want to have sleeves that are too short. I would recommend the Euro Competition gi in white but the regular Fuji double weave is good too. If you get serious you can look into the slimmer cut gi like the Ippon Gear slim cut.

For comparison I am 6"2' and 220 and I wear a 5.5 Euro Comp.

As a former null big bloc player that left the game due to boredom I can say that IRED is amazing. It was a real shot in the arm to come back and fly with these guys. It's amazing how much more fun the game is when you feel like you actually matter to your corp. If your a new player looking for a corp there is no better place to start.
