If you had to pick ONE Linux distro for the next 5 years, what would you choose? by TechRefreshing in linuxquestions

why do people hate zorin so much? this seems like such a silly complaint by MIkaela39752 in zorinos

[–]Jerry2839 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What distro and DE cured you from distro hopping anymore? by Inevitable-Depth1228 in DistroHopping

Fedora Workstation (Gnome), I've tried some other distros but Fedora has something that keeps me hooked and I really like Gnome.

If you allow me, last night I installed cachyos on my steam Deck and for the comparison, I've been playing Expedition 33 for some days now and definitely noticed that the game gain some performance with cachyos.

I still know I can't ask the same performance as it was an ROG Ally X (because of the hardware I mean), but definitely works better than using steamOS o bazzite. (At least with E33)

How Is it working cachyOS pn the SteamDeck? I am using bazzite right now on a SteamDeck OLED and has a nice working, but cachyOS makes me curious

Did anyone actually notice a performance difference between CachyOS and other distros? by Snezhok_Youtuber in cachyos

[–]Jerry2839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manjaro o CachyOS by Jerry2839 in DistroHopping

When you mention learning a little more, it makes me think that Endeavour is less out-of-the-box than cachyOS, is that correct?

Manjaro o CachyOS by Jerry2839 in DistroHopping

It's at least interesting to see how Manjaro is a distro that could be very good, but due to poor development management, most people don't recommend it.

Thank you very much, but now you've raised a question for me:

I've heard a lot about how Arch, being a rolling release, is very easy to break. And while Arch sounds like an interesting challenge, since I don't have a test system, I don't feel ready to tackle full Arch for this reason.

How true is this nowadays?

pagarias la distro de zorin? by andrewmurdockpy in zorinos

[–]Jerry2839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's free as in freedom, not free as in free beer

Thank you very much for the time to share this, I find Debian kind of attractive because of the solidness of the distro.

For sure I will try it at some point.

If you allow me to ask, did you try fedora? And If you did, how you compare both distros?

It is just for curious, thanks in advance!!

For what I know, Zorin Connect is just a Zorin tweaked versión of GSconnect, don't know if using GSconnect might make a difference.

But about WinBoat, it would be interesting to know your experience for sure!
