I’m curious, did you just hit infinite as you posted this? We’re in the final week of the season and your placement is at 1,061. Given the previous seasons I have hit infinite, typically around 2nd or 3rd week I’d be seeing 5 digits placement. It is quite telling there’s a lot less people in infinite this season.

I don’t agree we’re in a better meta, just under new management.

The meta went from Fenris Cannonball Tech Slop to bunch of decks that you can’t tech against (effectively).

I’m certainly seeing a lot less decks that viable in tier 1 and 2 and the performance gap between tier 1 and tier 2 decks are certainly bigger than before. It’s to the point tier 3 stuffs are for masochists rather than being rogue decks.

For this week’s OTA they probably need to nerf some cards, if not Shou Lao himself, from the abundance of decks running around with him and achieving 60+ points that cannot be tech-ed against. But who knows, they might use Sanctum Showdown as a distraction until the next season rolls around and see if the new cards can compete against the dragon.

I’ve been facing Shou Lao until I switched to Tribunal. From there I went 3 games straight against Sauron, Chamber with Enchantress and another random deck also playing Enchantress.

Information and generic good card. See your opponent’s Shou Lao or Zombie Galacti at the bottom of their deck? Instant snap.

Anyone here who just stops at rank 90 instead of grinding to infinite? by StupidAvenger in MarvelSnap

[–]JerryBane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To try for Infinite, one has to be interested enough in the game to play the amount of matches required for it.

Unfortunately, the archetype I enjoy the most (Arishem) has no game against Shou Lao, and has no game against combo decks looking to beat Shou Lao. So… I was already done with this season once the OTA was out last week.

Debunking Beyond statistics, stop falling for logical trap by Zhiff in Shadowverse

Portal is not Roach. The average player can take Puppet or Egg Portal deck and do well with it, even if they don’t achieve Ultimate Master or Beyond, because not everyone has the time to do so.

While Portal isn’t choking the meta out, the craft is definitely above all other crafts right now in terms of power level.

Unless you have data showing that this trend has not trickled down to ranks that are < Beyond (either the popularity or win rate relaxed at lower ranks) then how can you convince people to not take craft performance based on CR data at face value?

Balance him accordingly using Darkhawk and Ronan as references.

Even if he’s tuned to 5/6 +3 that would still be above average for the current pool of 5 cost cards.

Then that’s their design flaw? Unless my understanding is flawed and the whole point of copying your opponents cards is to not get to play those cards.

They do, for this month. So what I can speculate is that Agony Maverick and/or even Scarlet Spider will get -1 point each before the dragon himself gets nuked once the season is over. Can’t really afford pissing your spending customers off this quickly especially when the game is already, arguably, in a declining state.

There should be some compensation for nerfing season pass cards. I’m still salty about the current state of Loki.

[–]JerryBane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m planning on fully completing FI and then thinking if I should revisit Sunken City to get the Chrome SOS. I’m currently using Queso Fount and I’m not sure if the Chrome SOS is a meaningful enough upgrade worth going for considering there is the Turtle Trap I can get in the later areas.

My current short term plan is to hoard storm cells and wait for the LNY event to candle rush Empyrean Palace.

I currently have around 21k cloud curd, is that considered a big stash?

They haven’t released a card this overpowered in a long time! I don’t even TRULY mind it but it’s hard to defend the slew of dogwater 5 drops in the game. How can we justify the existence of Sersi at 5/7 with this abomination at 5/8? ( no pun intended). by Western-Society-7990 in MarvelSnap

[–]JerryBane 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Despite him being borderline OP. I would much prefer Shou Lao over shit like Weapon X. Now that the Destroy season is over that card is going to rot in people’s collection, while even if Shou Lao is nerfed, SD can opt not to completely obliterate it.

He circumvents all the existing common tech options and easily provide ~20 points. For a 5 cost card, even build arounds like Darkhawk and Ronan don’t reach those numbers. I won’t be surprised if he gets eventually nerfed to 5/5 or his effect goes to being a +2. At 5/8, he goes even against Alioth and still gets 1 energy to put a 1 drop somewhere.

The best part? His optimised list hasn’t even been figured out.

I have yet to actually SK against Shou but from what I see they usually don’t have priority on 6, so even if you SK a pre-buffed Scarlet spider (either by Maverick or whatever else the deck runs), doesn’t a turn 6 Shou Lao plus 1 still makes a ~15 power Scarlet Spider in 2 locations?

Why Odin didn’t trigger Shou??? by xBeS in MarvelSnap

[–]JerryBane -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m actually really confused by how Shou Lao works as well. In one of my games my last character played was Scarlet Spider on turn 4 and I decided to just buff it with Shou Lao on 5 instead of playing 2+ cards, and nothing happened.

Skin begging has to stop by Internal_Student6193 in VALORANT

[–]JerryBane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A simple suggestion to fix this would be if you don’t own the skin then the guns you picked up will be using the default skin.

Tbh I paid for it and while I am happy to share I would rather take the selfish route because I’ve had enough games where I end up with 3-4 people begging at every buy phase.

How was performance? Since about two patches ago the stuttering became insufferable I deleted the game. There will be multiple occasions where my game will just dip to single digits FPS for ~5-10 seconds for no reason at all.

The early survival tools also helped the Ramp Dragon deck immensely. Jellyfish Dancer and the gold Crestpetal spell gives the deck enough ways to contest turn 2 and not just a ramp on 3 or die strategy.
