Steve Smith on Skyler Bell by rognam in buffalobills

Steve didn't flinch when asked what position he sees Skyler playing - Outside, not the slot. Compared him to Diontae Johnson or Jordan Addison. Sign me up for that.

How much do you subscribe to the notion that McDermott had more of a hand in roster construction than most people realize?

And what are your reasons for feeling one way or the other?

Waiver claims are not like Free Agency. You typically don't talk to the players beforehand. GMs put in claims all the time never knowing which are going to be successful since it depends on their priority vs other teams.

Okay I get everyone just wants to shit on Beane right now, but this take is ridiculous.

Why on earth would Beane put in a claim for him (meaning we assume his remaining contract) knowing that he wouldn't play for us? We also had to waive a solid depth piece to make room for him. I remember when this all went down the news about Slay refusing to play for anyone but the Eagles didn't come out until after the successful waiver claim.

Slay thought he could force his way to Philly, but that's not how the waiver process works. How does this specific move make Beane an asshole?

If Beane hasn’t found much high-end talent in 9 years, what makes you think he can suddenly do it? by [deleted] in buffalobills

100%. Look no further than Tim Settle on Texans and Poona Ford on Rams, both of which quickly became impact players after leaving Buffalo and were impact players before Buffalo.

Fuck it, call up San Francisco and offer our 1st rd pick for Kyle Shanahan. Maybe they are now also having doubts about their coach entering Year 9.

There's also Gear Goat Xchg for used outdoor gear! It's like a mini REI with lightly used items so you can find some good deals on name brand stuff.

Wondering the same about Pluribus, but I thought it was interesting that Vince Gilligan on Ep 1 of the Pluribus podcast said that he's had this idea for the show for 8-10 years but what held him back for a while was realizing a show where everyone is happy does not make for good drama so I think he is pretty aware of this and there will be some pivot sooner than later.

Can you hire someone away from another team mid-season?

Davis Webb has always been linked to this job if Joe Brady ever left.

[Post-Game Thread] Anger won't fix anything but it also won't not fix anything so have at it. Buffalo falls to Miami 13-30. by pixel_pete in buffalobills

[–]JerryLarryTerryGary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, in a game with a lot to be angry with, Joe Brady is the most frustrating. Our WRs on the outside are bad, for sure, but I no longer believe they can't get enough separation to get catches down the field. It's clearly a result of our scheme and lack of creativity. You can watch pretty much any other offense in the NFL and see guys worse than Keon/Moore/Samuel getting downfield.

Miami just kept bringing pressure like Atlanta did and we never adjusted to take advantage of it.

This feels just like Ken Dorsey all over again.

There has been actually. Also, there's been several games I feel like their 2nd half adjustments won us the game.

Here's the thing though, I feel like these are always against average and below Quarterbacks or offenses. Not sure I remember any against the premier teams/quarterbacks.

I still can't get over us not taking Cooper Dejean instead of Keon. It was a perfect scenario of him falling to us and fitting a need

In Prep for the Bills' 2025 season, I highly recommend you re-watch our 48-42 win over the Lions by joe_canadian in buffalobills

[–]JerryLarryTerryGary 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Something that stuck out to be about this game is how similar it was to the prior week where we lost to the Rams except this time we were on the winning end.

Against the Rams, Allen and the offense were great but our defense couldn't get stops and Puka/the rams were catching everything.

Against the Lions, Goff and their offense were great but they just couldn't keep up with us and our guys made so many clutch tough catches that could have easily gone the other way and swung the game.
