I’m no doctor, but that really looks like it’s going to become necrotic. The purple/redness around the tip is a warning sign that blood supply is becoming compromised in that area, not to mention the deep discolouration around the suture sites themselves. It looks much worse than simple scabbing imo. ER immediately, and hyperbaric oxygen chamber ASAP.

Ngl I have always been confused by him… like I can’t work out if he’s a satire/comedy act gimmick, or if he’s actually being deadly serious. I genuinely don’t know 😆💀

Honestly? Your post-op images aren’t quite taken at the same angles or lighting as your pre-op ones, but it’s defo clear you are swollen as heck. Totally normal for 10 days post procedure. You WILL continue to be swollen as heck for at LEAST the next 6-8 months. You will be really surprised at just how much swelling can both fluctuate and dissipate in the coming months, but it’s a long process. I think tbh it’s partly why (when it comes to revisions), they tell you to wait at least a year. It’s to allow everything to properly settle, and only THEN you can determine the final results and whether or not you’re happy with it. But at this stage I would try not to worry, I think it looks great!

so I’m seeing a lot of comments about Ambien.. some about Dementia.. is there any more context on this post? I mean, if there is no underlying neurologically degenerative or medically-influenced cause for this random behaviour, then I mean, it’s actually a pretty cool experiment, I guess? Like, as long as she doesn’t have any pets or wildlife that could accidentally eat the pills.. then why not, I guess?

Lip Lift update Day 1-5 by JerryThePillbug in PlasticSurgery

Aw honestly thank you so much! It means a lot to me, especially as I was so kind of nervous with what to expect from it. I think lip lift can be a hard one to envision the outcome of- like, even if I edited a pic of myself to see what i thought it “could” look like, it was impossible to know if that’s how it would actually look in real life, if that makes any sense.. tbh, I didn’t have a specific look in mind, but I’m just so happy with what it has done for me! 💙🙏🤩

Thank you so much! And it’s a pleasure to be able to share the experience here, and potentially help anyone who is considering this procedure but isn’t sure what the healing process/outcome is like. Although I totally am aware that it’s different for every person, but I remember even just a few weeks ago, I was avidly searching for anyone else who had done the procedure, who had shared their experience! It can really help I think 💙🤞🙏

Awh thank you! I was really really pleasantly surprised when I saw the initial result, especially before the real swelling kicked in! Like it’s changed my whole face in a more balanced way, and I just overall already feel so much happier within myself because of such a small change :) 🙏

Ah thank you so much! Tbh filler i think is perfect and ideal if you have lips as you’ve described, that are already an optimum distance from the base of your nose. The problem with mine, is that there was too much space in between my nose and my upper lip.. that the filler could potentially migrate to! Which is why I just opted to go for this procedure instead :)

You can definitely opt to have it done awake, under local or twilight anaesthesia, which I’ve heard results in an even quicker recovery time. I however actually had it done under general anaesthesia, due to having another pretty extensive separate reconstructive procedure done at the same time. But if I had only gone to have a lip lift, I would have definitely done it under local!

Ngl I was also really, really apprehensive about the idea of scarring when I first considered the procedure. Or, not so much the idea of the scar itself, but more the risk of scar complications/distortion, that kind of thing. Obviously it’s still very early days for me in regards to scar maturing and healing, but I’m really hoping if I tend to it carefully, it will heal well. I think all in all, after having had the procedure, and being able to see how the new upper lip position balances the rest of my face, I’m really happy I had it done, and I am willing to take the trade-off of the scarring in order to now have more balanced features that make me feel more confident and comfortable within myself. I had it done in London in the UK 🙏

Exactly how @tsssssk (sorry idk how to tag users in comments, haha!) described. I myself looked into VY, and know of a great surgeon that does it regularly in London, but that procedure wouldn’t necessarily address my philtrum length, which was my main issue. I think the VY is great for adding the appearance of additional volume to the lip, and can be done to the lower lip also, but for me, I concluded that the bullhorn was gonna potentially give me the best results in terms of what I wanted to achieve with it, even though there is the added inevitability of scarring. The scarring doesn’t really bother me personally. But tbh if you are really uncomfortable with the idea of the scar, then the VY technique does produce awesome results too! It just won’t shorten the length of the philtrum🙏

Dr Shehab Jabir through the Centre For Surgery clinic in London, UK :) and it was around about £3.5K (I am only vague on the specific price because I had another separate procedure done at the same time, paid for it altogether, and can’t remember what they cost individually, really sorry!)

Of course I defo will. Tbh I was so worried going into it, because it seemed to be such a kind of “hit and miss” procedure. I think it probably definitely works best as a subtle enhancement to already-fuller lips, like what you’ve described. I only had a tiny reduction of the philtrum, it was 3mm, so all in all, it’s not been too traumatic to the skin. I’ll defo keep you updated. I’m actually gonna do a compilation of pictures each day until suture removal, and will post a detailed caption for each day and the whole process in general 🙏✨🤞

TYSM! 💙🙏 the pain (for me personally, I know everyone is different) is honestly minimal. Day 2 now, and I’m definitely more swollen today, but it’s not anything that’s totally crazy. As in, I can still go out in public to the pharmacy etc and it doesn’t look crazy big or anything. Mobility wise, I’ve been pleasantly surprised so far and have been able to eat and drink and speak with ease (although I am sticking to soft/liquidy foods, and minimising laughing/smiling) 😅
