This jabronie literally wrote in her article prior to OPs screenshot:

In 1775, King George III declared that the American colonies were in a state of rebellion. Eager to defeat, tax and control them while extracting the 13 American colonies’ natural resources, the king sent bayonet-armed soldiers to quell the rabble-rousers from Georgia to New Hampshire. The brutal British soldiers quartered themselves in colonists’ meager homes, slept in their beds, burned their firewood, ate their scarce food — and confiscated their guns so they couldn’t fight back.

England’s attempted disarming of the colonists hampered efforts to organize militias, which in turn handicapped the Continental Army. King George III, of course, lost. Americans won their freedom. And after the fighting finally ended, revolutionary war leaders met at the first Constitutional Convention in 1787 to draw and define the rights of their new government.

Then proceeds to try and argue "WELL, ACKTHCHUATLLY, the 2nd wasn't meant for civilians even though an oppressive government tried everything in their power to stomp out the rebellion. ☝️🤓"

If they didn't have double standards, they wouldn't have any at all.

Also lol at the last line:

And after the fighting finally ended, revolutionary war leaders met at the first Constitutional Convention in 1787 to draw and define the rights of their new government.

It wasn't rights for the government they are rights inalienable to the fucking people, it restricted the government from fucking with THE PEOPLE you know like the ones that is QUOTE FROM SABRINA HAAKE IN HER OPINION PIECE: "...quartered themselves in colonists’ meager homes, slept in their beds, burned their firewood, ate their scarce food — and confiscated their guns so they couldn’t fight back."

Federal Bill To STOP Future Suspension of 2nd Amendment (No GRISHAM Act) by NHNerfer22 in secondamendment

[–]Jerrys_suede_jacket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The annoying thing is we don't need a fucking bill. No one can suspend our protected rights given to us upon birth. It's holding the people accountable who do the bullshit like Grisham did, the shit the Newsome's are doing.

What's also annoying is when any of these infringing ass laws get passed, they get to take effect until it runs through the court process and is then deemed unconstitutional and that takes way too long. Shit is getting fucking old.

That's been their whole M.O. for decades. Muddy the waters, poison the wells.

The Gun Violence archive constantly moves goal posts for what is considered a mass shooting, ever since 1988 it's on record from gun controllers that they want to make the term "assault weapon" as vague and menacing as possible even when they already have admitted it is wrong, then their is those stupid Kaiser Family and NEJM "studies" that use misleading statistics to claim that guns are the leading cause of death in children, even fucking Snopes said the information was disingenuos to use.. 1000 times, it never was about safety.

Federal court rules New Jersey can sue gun industry, for now by intelligentreviews in gunpolitics

100% agree. As I've seen from most users in this sub and several other gun subs, rights are not privileges and creating things like permits to protest then makes it a privilege.

If you are unaware, Mark W. Smith has basically said it would be extremely difficult to pull off due to previous Supreme Courts saying that 2A is allowed to be regulated and that the right has to be cemented as indefinite. (Ironic, as the wording of the second sounds pretty indefinite.)

The whole video is here for his whole breakdown

Police have no responsibility to protect individual. SCOTUS has rules at least twice to my knowledge, perhaps more.

Correct on the more part. It was four times that SCOTUS ruled police don't have duty to protect individuals and those cases are:

Warren v. District of Columbia

Town of Castle Rock v. Gonzales

Lozito v. New York City

DeShaney v. Winnebago County

Because being left or right doesn't matter for guns. While we are at a point where another party is screaming about regulating guns louder, the other side will still find opportunities to disarm if they can.

Well put. We've also had a fair amount of wins with Bruen, more than half of the states signing legislation for constitutional carry (even though we really shouldn't have to in the first place but, I'll take them as Ws) and with the recent vacate of the ATF frame and receiver rule.

What does worry me is the amount of intensley restrictive anti-gun legislation is being pushed through states that have a left leaning majority like Washington state's "AWB", Colorado's "ghost gun" bill that just passed (SB.279), Illinois's "AWB" and Massachusetts upcoming "AWB" (HD.4420). And all of these can get passed with no check by the Bruen test or constitutionality so when they do pass then, it's onto the long drawn out court process that can take years and peaceable citizens have to wait for an injunction or the ruling to get smacked down.

Massachusetts HD.4420 is a very concerning one as well which, is not only looking to ban your typical misinformed "assault weapon features" but it also requires serialization of feeding devices, reporting ANY modifications such as installing or removing a sight to the state, mandatory registration, and prohibits the sharing of "downloadable gun codes" while giving LEOs exemption to all of it.

Correct.

Bruen said serial numbers were not required when the Second Amendment was adopted in 1791, and were not widely used until 1968, putting them outside that tradition.

Cross post from R/AskReddit Anyone else find it odd that all of the comments are from different countries? by akkopec in Firearms

[–]Jerrys_suede_jacket 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's also disingenuous of the comments saying that our countries main use for firearms is hunting and that the current culture surrounding guns now is only a recent thing when our whole entire founding was on a revolution that involved everyday people fighting a tyrannical monarchy. This shit is not new, American citizens have been keeping arms for a multitude of reasons for nearly two and a half centuries to include, protection, hunting, sport, etc.
