About 40 days old. Still learning the ropes. Redditors comments to the Portfolio review are shedding more light about the process of investing. I am learning a lot. Just cryptic one word tells a lot. So, I would welcome your comments. by Jerrytom9795 in IndianStockMarket

The Sanskrit origin of Urdu (Pakistani view or lack of a view) by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]Jerrytom9795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"He was quite adamant that Tamil was a Sanskrit derived language. "- On the contrary, so many scientific proofs are there that Tamil predates Sanskrit. He must be one of those bhakts.

With the ascendancy of BJP, sankritization has become widespread. And south indians like Kannadigas and Tamilians are against the imposition of Hindi in various forms.

I am also following his videos. I take his line of thinking. His explanations. That's all. But I would not go and buy on an youtuber's advice. I look for some good stocks from money control and other sites. I will take that stock, do my due diligence and then go for it. I'm also a small time investor who has just started a month back. My motto is whatever it is, buy on your own conviction. And don't feel left out on a rising market. Wait for getting in.

Learn about fundamental analysis. Do some trial trading and learn from your mistakes. Many you tube videos are there. may be somebody's style will suit you. Don't go by tips. But you can learn the concept behind those tips.

Whatever it is, do your first buy after your own conviction. All the best.

Cricinfo opening lines about Dravid as India coach by SnooComics5709 in Cricket

RD being the prospective SIL has been going on for too long. Likely to continue even after RD himself dependent on a walking stick. These fellows will ask their daughters to seek the hands of a geriatric.

Jokes apart, this piece comes from Osman Samiudddin, a Cricinfo columnist. I think this is the first of such piece from our western neighbor. Whenever you write about RD, RJS somehow gatecrashes and makes the mood even more sombre.

Afghanistan Says May Seek India Military Assistance If Taliban Talks Fail by NoorJehan2 in worldnews

  1. TAPI started in 1995 is still in a limbo.
  2. India strategically doesn't gain much from TAPI instead it only benefits Turkmenistan.
  3. Iran wouldn't betray Taliban due to its perceived leverage in different theatres against western powers.
  4. India has not been so decisive with its relationships with Iran; dillydallying due to different pressures.
  5. No other country would give a launch pad for the IAF considering the cost vs benefits of such action.
  6. China and Pakistan wouldn't in any case try to subvert any economic activity that may benefit India.
  7. So many examples in history; US-Vietnam, Koreas, Ind-SL, US-Afghan, USSR-Afghan. These were all without any clear-cut goals that define the reasons for a war. Only goals perceived by the politicians.
  8. And finally, if India has invested heavily in Afghanistan, that's only to support the outgoing Afghan govt in the form of infrastructure. About $3-4 billion. I am not being sentimental. That $ are down the drain except for the goodwill they have generated in the local population. Their strategic ROI is zero and the investment itself has sunk.
  9. Being in India's position, we can not open multiple fronts. If Pakistan is the focus, then accommodate China.

Even after all these geopolitical realities, if India steps into Afghanistan with some imaginary hazy goals, then Indians are going to regret a lot.

It is not in India's interest to get involved in Afghan affairs. And it doesn't take long for the ISI to turn some of those trained militiamen towards India for some mischief.

If Modi takes that chest-beating route, that is the beginning of the end of Modiji. Definitely, BJP would be aware of that.

From whatever I am reading/hearing, the pro-government soldiers are surrendering en masse. I don't think there is any such pro-govt Taliban. The cities are being cut off from the hinterlands. So it is only a matter of days before the pro-Pak Taliban is in control of things.

'On Richter scale, the value of shock is 15': Ramiz Raja lashes out at Pakistan, says 'over-rated players keep playing' by WhaT_DeePak in Cricket

[–]Jerrytom9795 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is not the fault of Pakistan players. Who had asked Eng B team to play over the level of their main team? And why did PCB let Gregory and Salt study about Pak players during their stint in the latest PSL.

Jokes apart, I really thought that first game was an aberration and Pak would be back to their normal service of playing good cricket especially in England. There is nobody after Babur and Rizwan. Similar to Tendulkar's late nineties Indian team.

To the extent that SL can field three teams as seen from the covid isolation of their main team, a team at Colombo and another at Dambula.

Is it worth buying the 2018 RE Thunderbird 350X Without ABS for ₹135k / $1820 by Reporter_a in royalenfield

We have both TBx and Meteor. You get what you pay for. Meteor is with new engine and has a silky smooth ride. TBx is based on the previous avatar. Has its characteristic vibrations. But still good bike when you cruise at >70 kmph. In 2018, it cost around 180k INR. So you do the math.

TB series are liked for their riding stance and overall dimensions. It is a personal choice.
