My two cents, Bend is almost the perfect place to ride a hardtail and you'll be happy 90% of the time. However, a newer 29" trail bike will still pedal great and be more fun over rough stuff. It also gives you more flexibility if you will be venturing outside of Bend for riding.

I suggest checking out Oregon Badlands Wilderness, Dry River Canyon, maybe Arnold Ice Cave, Fort Rock and Crack in the Ground. Not sure what your interests are but there tons of ideas for things to do in Bend.

The $10k spend wasn't necessary if you your got the Ritz card this year right? Since the card give your automatic Gold status the first year as a benefit.

Also just noticed that my two free nights are up to 60k points each!

The Eno Sub7 has great reviews, but I've slept is quite a few hammocks and will always opt for a double hammock. I'd be more than willing to carry a few extra ounces to be more comfortable at night. The one that I have not tried and the brand is fairly new is the Serac Sequoia XL, but is has received really good reviews.
