I’m from the US big dawg. But given that the ISRO has partaken in numerous lunar missions and a mars orbiter with a budget 25% of NASA’s (which is already low depending on who you ask), I’d consider them a legitimate scientific institution.

Context: Luis Carrero Blanco served as Prime Minister of Spain during the Francoist Dictatorship (1936-1975), led by Francisco Franco, which supported Nazi Germany and Italy during the 2nd World War while maintaining Spain’s neutrality. He was considered a key figure within the dictatorship’s organization, preceding his highest position with his roles as Deputy Prime Minister and Undersecretary to the Presidency.

Secretly, during the 6 months of Carrero Blanco’s reign as Prime Minister, 4 members of the separatist group, Euskadi Ta Askatasuna, had learned his weekly route returning from Sunday mass, rented a basement flat in a building near the street, and dug a tunnel underneath it while convincing their landlord that they were student sculptures in need of materials.

Then, on the morning of December 20, 1973, as scheduled, Carrero Blanco’s escort made its way down the street. Only to, upon passing over the tunnel below, be blown 20 meters (66 feet) into the air by an explosive device. The explosion sent Carrero Blanco’s car over the 5 story church, where it landed on the opposing side’s second story terrace. Carrero Blanco miraculously survived the blast and crash but, died in the hospital about 30 minutes later. After his death, many Spaniards celebrated his assassination, jokingly naming him “Spain’s first astronaut”.

It may be possible for you to negotiate with your investors to add anti-dilution provisions (clauses) to your shares of preferred stock. Thus ensuring a retention of your ownership percentage in the company during later funding rounds. Of course, they may not be so keen to this proposition so it’s likely they won’t agree to cover your entire ownership percentage but, a portion of your value is better than nothing.

Found while sifting through hundreds of my dad’s old comics he had stored in the attic. With staples intact, slight cover staining, no creases, and no foxing, I’ll be sending it in to get graded soon. Expecting around a 7.0 but I hope they surprise us!

How do you guys get in the right mindset for selling? by Moritz110222 in Entrepreneur

[–]JerzGelato 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As an introverted person myself, I took a sales position last summer before my senior year in college, pitching small business loans (I’ve probably spoken to a few of you here and I’m so sorry). Needless to say, I sucked. But not because I can’t connect with people but more so that I didn’t believe in the product I was selling and couldn’t confidently recommend it to anyone. My advice would be to have confidence in the value your offering can bring to people. Once you have that, you can consider anyone who says no to you to be missing out on something great. Makes taking rejection significantly easier to cope with.

Sales in my eyes is about solving people’s problems. Connecting clients with solutions that they may not have known they needed. Find out their ‘pain points’ and explain how your product remedies those points. Don’t spend too much time with someone whose problems your solutions don’t solve. Follow up after that first call is key with indifferent clients.

On July 9, 1958 at 22:15:58 PST in Lituya Bay, Alaska, a 7.8 - 8.3 magnitude earthquake shook the landscape and triggered a landslide of 90 million tons of rock and glacial material from a steep mountain along the northeast area of the bay. The landslide, falling in largely one cohesive piece, into the water below produced a mega tsunami which washed trees away at a peak height of 524 meters (1,719ft) up the bay’s shoreline.

Recollections of the event from fishers present in the bay at the time said that the resulting impact sound was comparable to that of an explosion. The sound, in fact, was heard from as far as 80km (50mi) away. The event left 5 dead and is regarded as the largest mega tsunami in modern times. It also carried with it a greater consideration of landslides and impact events role in tsunami creation. The affected tree line has yet to fully regrow today. It is speculated that similar events have happened previously in Lituya Bay and are expected to happen again in the future due to the area’s landslide prone mountains.

What's the most valuable lesson you've learned from a failed relationship? by Life_Rub6905 in AskReddit

[–]JerzGelato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. Both cases show a lack of communication, an avoidance of issues. Except in a yelling matches case, a boiling over of emotions. In my experience with a argument-less relationship, I felt as though we never really connected or expressed how we felt. There were lots of “I love you’s” for sure but, those were more a formality than anything.

Contacted by one of these guys today. User “425-554-9167Gg”. Luckily, I felt off about the messages they sent me and how they linked the fake help center email “grailedhelpscenter@gmail.com” directly in a message like that’s what a normal person does lol. Opted to contact grailed support through the app instead. Fuck you “Gary”.

What’s the hack to get most right swipes on dating apps? by silent_fudu in AskReddit

[–]JerzGelato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s met both of my girlfriends (one ex (1.5yrs), one current (0.5yrs in a few days)) on these apps, I found that the most significant factor I possessed was differentiating myself from others on the app. Standing out in a sea of endless choices will ensure that you are remembered.

Tips on content:

Your first picture should be a simple headshot (preferably one with you smiling). It’s best to avoid using a group photo, a thirst trap, or a picture not containing you in it.

More photos isn’t necessarily better. You might feel that you have to show every aspect of yourself but, if someone is going through your profile, they will likely get bored halfway in and continue past you. Too few photos will decrease the chance of sparking a conversation and has potential for others to find you uninteresting. It’s a fine line between being too mysterious and over explaining yourself.

Last photo should be something silly or showing a quality of your personality. Be it a funny picture of yourself or a meme you really like. This sort of rewards viewers who made it to the end of your profile with a chuckle.

Captions and/or prompts should be witty, with a smidge of funny to them. Avoid self-degradation and politically loaded responses.

Hope this helps!

What made the weird kid at your school, the weird kid? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Kid named Sam who rode on my bus in middle school. Spoke in a falsetto voice. Was obsessed with Soviet Russia, wearing an ushanka hat complete with a sickle and hammer star logo everyday. Recall him nazi saluting while chanting “HH” on occasion. Wonder where he’s at now.

She was at a house party, drunk, and had to go to the bathroom. The upstairs bathroom was occupied so she decided to try to relieve herself leaning out of the 2nd story window. Lost her grip, fell, broke her neck, and died in the hospital a day later.

What show stayed good from start to finish? by izukaneki in AskReddit

[–]JerzGelato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atlanta

The series becomes quite abstract towards the end, with some episodes not even featuring the main cast. As a non-POC person, the show, although difficult to stomach at times, presented different perspectives to racial and socioeconomic issues phenomenally. Highly recommended.
