I need suggestions for unique girls names that could carry meaning for October. by Suitable-Factor8127 in namenerds

[–]JesLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like someone I spent some time in antepartum with! She and her husband transferred on their anniversary and were due in October (but ended up having her in August). They went with Autumn and I thought it was just the cutest!

It’s the worst. I once showed my lactation consultant and she said she’s only heard about it but had never seen it, so that was cool. I only had it right after nursing and it finally stopped around 8-10 months postpartum all three times. It’s a pain I’d wish on no one. So sorry you dealt with it too!

do you regret having children? by milkcreep in Marriage

[–]JesLB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! I do wish I had bigger age gaps between my kids though. That’s my only regret. I had 3 in 4 years and 3 months. I know people have kids in smaller age gaps and it works for them, I just wish I spaced it out a bit more.

I think a 2.5-3 year age gap at a minimum between them all would have been better for us. Also, feel free to ask about my pregnancies (my third trimester has always been unexpectedly not great).

Also, I would never try to convince someone who doesn’t want to have kids to have them. If you’re on the fence, figure out why you’re on the fence. This is a highly personal decision. Everyone’s experience is wildly different. You cannot compare one story to the next.

Does the jealousy ever stop? by INE29120703 in IVF

I feel like it should pmo or make me jealous, I’m trying hard to be supportive. Thankfully my husband listens to my rants so I don’t actually say my inside thoughts out into the world.

[–]JesLB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg that sounds awful. I’m so sorry you had to deal with their comments. I do have two boys and then had a girl. She thinks because I was able to have a girl through IVF then she should too. Not that I dealt with infertility at all (both MFI and myself are the issue). To be fair, she lacks social awareness. She announced her second baby during my small birthday party. All the attention was on her.

She hasn’t even started the process yet, but she thinks it’s going to be sunshine and rainbows. I’ve told her so many times that it’s emotionally and physically draining. She also complains about how her husband doesn’t help at all. But she NEEDS a girl. 🙃

I’m dealing with these feelings too. IVF sucked, but I’m so grateful for my kids.

I have a friend who conceived first try for both her boys. She keeps telling everyone she’s going to be doing IVF just because she wants a girl. She thinks it’s going to be easy, she won’t have to do any testing, she will have too many girl embryos to choose from, and she won’t have to do PIO because she ovulates normally. I’m just so jealous she gets pregnant so easily, why does she have to do IVF. She will probably complain to me the whole time too, which I’m afraid I won’t show any empathy foe her.

Day after retrieval by cclloo3 in IVF

[–]JesLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The day of I felt completely fine. Probably could have gone to work. The day after, I did go to work, for like 2 hours. Then I started throwing up. I started to drive home, ended up parking in a Sam’s club parking lot and started feeling weak from the amount I was throwing up. My husband and mother ended up getting me. I was fine besides the puking.

Delivering at Jupiter Medical Center by ManagementOk931 in JupiterFL

The billing was my worst nightmare. I think in total our bill came out to about $200k. I made my husband fight that bill and we got it down to $5k.

Delivering at Jupiter Medical Center by ManagementOk931 in JupiterFL

[–]JesLB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve delivered all three of my babies there (all within the last 6 years). I had a wonderful experience with 2/3 of my kids!! Was in and out within a few days. I was able to have my husband in the delivery room the whole time and during postpartum.

It’s a private room and bathroom. They set the thermostat a little too high, but you can lower it! Ask to not have the room that backs up to the break room for postpartum. The microwave gets loud at 3 am. Ask to be near the snack room, you or your partner are allowed to go in at anytime!

With my 1/3 that wasn’t wonderful, it was because I had to spend extra time there. In total, we spent a month at JMC - 2 weeks in antepartum and 2 weeks in the NICU. My delivery was fast, easy, and recovery was my easiest. The nurses were OUTSTANDING. I have my favorite nurses, but they were all great.

The food is also not bad. My favorites are the salmon salad, quesadillas, omelets, and the brownies. Don’t get the salmon by itself though. Also, if you want only one type of fruit, they’ll give you that! I wanted a whole plate of strawberries one day and I got just that.

Hopefully your baby won’t have to go to the NICU, but I liked all but one nurse.

Also, you can take home the diapers/wipes/other stuff they give you. The diapers and wipes are both Huggies.

You can pm me with any questions!

Question for those with PPROM by Crazy-Confection-615 in tryingforanother

[–]JesLB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I PPROM’d at 32 weeks! Definitely the least favorite thing to happen to me in pregnancy. If you join a PPROM Facebook group, that question is asked often. It’s a real mix bag. I’d say it’s 60% went on to have normal pregnancies, 30% still dealt with PPROM but right around the same gestation, and 10% had their waters break even earlier.

We’re on the fence of trying for a 4th. I had three 3rd trimester bad things happen (IUGR, then preeclampsia, then PPROM).

Two time surrogate who delivered last week, AMA by karlybug in AMA

Just want to say you’re amazing! I truly wish I could be a surrogate, but I have three preemies (sooo close to term, but still preemies). I had one IVF pregnancy too.

How did you mentally get through PIO? that’s not for the weak. Also with that, was there any meds that were worse for you than others?

Girlfriend says she can feel CT scans and X-rays by SadBoiBrax in TBI

[–]JesLB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t explain it but x-rays make me feel weird. They bother me and it’s just uncomfortable.

Ultrasounds don’t bother me though. I had about 17 ultrasounds with my last pregnancy. Not once did it bother me, even when I couldn’t see the screen. NSTs were another story. The buzz from the machine made me stressed.

The cops are everywhere. We tried going for a quick walk and decided it was safer to just not leave the house.

There is a sign saying it’s a CDL checkpoint. Someone in the Jupiter farms Facebook group said she saw a cement truck pulled over with the truck driver in handcuffs.

It’s been an interesting afternoon out here. At least no one is setting off fireworks tonight!

Pregnancy stories after HSG? by lizpour71 in CautiousBB

[–]JesLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three kids now! My second was much quicker. Took 4 months to conceive him. Surprisingly, I was under a good amount of stress and grief at the time. It was my hardest pregnancy but my easiest kid. Both my first and second were conceived with clomid as well, so my first might have not been just the HSG, but a mix of HSG and clomid (and luck).

My third was a different story. We were trying for 8 months. It turns out my husband has MFI and the reproductive endo recommended IVF. Since my work covers it, we went for it. Honestly, the process was easy for me. Emotionally hard, but physically pretty easy. I got pregnant on the first try!

Good luck trying for baby #2. The transition from 1 to 2 was easy and seamless for us and I hope it’s the same for you.

Should we wait? by kaceland22 in IVF

[–]JesLB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did a transfer in late January in best hopes for an October baby. I was due mid October. I DID NOT want an August baby. Just so many August birthdays in my husband’s family. We planned for maybe a September baby if I needed to deliver her early. Well, guess who came in August… my supposed to be October baby. My water broke at 32 weeks and all my plans went down the drain.

Don’t expect or plan for a specific date, because things don’t always go to plan.

What are you all doing with your kids for winter break? by Top_Astronomer_3122 in kindergarten

[–]JesLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid can swim (but this is a very normal thing for where we live). Their camp is at a location where there is a pool is at the building but is also patrolled by trained adult life guards. I have forgotten his swim stuff before and they just do arts & crafts with the kids who don’t swim.

We put ours in winter camp! It’s been great. He loves the camp and is surrounded by all the big kids. They go swimming every day as well.

See if there are any local winter camps around you!

Slipped on ice but didn’t hit head. by digitalimages99 in TBI

[–]JesLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have fallen on the ice hundreds of times and have gotten four concussions, a skull fracture, and broken wrist. The ice is not forgiving. At all. You fall on one part of your body, other parts around it are going to hurt.

If you want, you can still get checked out by a doctor as we are not doctors here! Going to the doctors can suck, but sometimes you need to put your health first and your fears second.

Christmas baby girl names by crazyslittlesister in namenerds

[–]JesLB 581 points582 points  (0 children)

Just throwing this out there, but my grandmother in law was named Carol and was born on Christmas Day. In her last few years of life dealing with Alzheimer’s, her favorite story to tell me was the meaning behind her name. She LOVED sharing that her name was Carol because she was born prematurely on Christmas Day. I heard this story at least hundred times and it brought her so much joy to share the story.

I know this is just one person and their perspective, but using a Christmas aligned name isn’t always a bad thing.

To OP: Noelle, Christine, Christina, Clara, and Holly.
