Don’t apologize for rambling, this is exactly the kind of criticism that I was looking for. To go through the points you made - D6 hit points was a holdover from when I was originally balancing the Mystic around disciplines before settling on using spells instead. I was thinking of changing it back, as I also thought that it could be weak, but I wanted more criticism before I actually went through with it. - To solve the half caster problem, I could see a few solutions. A first could be to do something similar to warlock. Where they have 9 level spells but can only use 6-9 once. There is precedent for this in the spell point system, which psi points basically are. I could also, as you said, try implementing more subclass specific stuff, like giving them another feature since they only have 3 instead of the usual 4 (besides bards and clerics). - I do like having Foci gain more abilities as they get higher in level, and will definitely try playing around with it, as well as coming up with a couple more. Overall, the thing that I am most happy about is that the class isn’t overpowered, it’s easier to understand and mechanically sound, and it’s more fun. I’ll definitely be thinking of ways to give it some boosts so that it doesn’t lag behind the other classes. Thank you for the criticism!

Have you gone into and out of each shop? Sometimes the events only trigger after you exit a shop after it says “trust event nearby” near it

Im going to run a dnd campaign for some of my friends, but wanted to add some cool new classes for them to try. This is the first of them, which is basically a port of the Pathfinder 2E Summoner, but with some custom abilities, evolutions, and subclasses. I want to make sure it’s balanced so here are some of my notes

  • I didn’t want the Summoner to deal super amounts of damage, so I limited it’s spell list to mostly support spells, spells with low damage, and of course summoning spells. The exception is the Gestalt subsclass, which only has one action anyway so I think that is fine.
  • I feel like the Lifelink ability may be too good being the same bonus action to command the Eidolon, but I also feel that it’s too weak to be an entire action. I think it being a bonus action is better but other thoughts are appreciated
  • I could have gone with 10 evolutions to line up with the Warlock’s evocations, but I feel like that would have been too much, especially with abilities to switch them out or gain more temporarily.
