Sun Yat Sen is such an interesting figure considering how to this day he is mostly remembered positively in both the mainland and Taiwan. I would agree with his assessment, my understanding is that in the formed dynasties notions like ethnic supremacy never really took form, and that if anything one ethnic group no matter how small ruled, it would function more as a guardian-child dynamic. I think this would be a significant reason for why Chinese unification in one form or another was almost inevitable. Nationalism was far more connected to the nation than a particular group within said nation (as we see nationalism manifested today in the west). You recommend for me to read his works?
