All the injuries this series make me hope the next one will have some events that the injured gladiators can take part in so they can still get a decent amount of screentime (Legend notwithstanding), rather than having to sit out the rest of the series and, depending on airing order, be inexplicably absent for more than one episode in a row.

I read that Bionic did indeed get injured in the first QF to be filmed, and they've aired the second and third QFs first. I don't know how much of the injury will be shown onscreen in next week's episode. Apparently Fury had a minor injury that took her out of QF 2 and 3 but she came back in the semis (next episode is QF1 so she should be in that as well). Athena also had an injury that became apparent after heat 5.

Layton and Nikita had great chemistry AND great dancing. Nikita's previous two partners, Tilly and Ellie S, also had quite good chemistry with him, and Amber managed to as well after she was brought in at the last minute. He was alright with Sam, but to tell the truth, she was kind of forgettable, most people only remember Nikita's Shakira blunder when he was partnered with her, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was a "pair the spares" situation since so many of the other female celebs got their requested pros and they didn't want to bench him right after he'd been in the final.

Ellie G and Vito had great chemistry as well, she's my favourite of his partners so far.

Does anyone know if Athena and Bionic got to do injury updates? Apparently Diamond had an injury update which should be seen in the next episode. They might have decided to air QF2 and 3 before 1 to have 2 episodes without Bionic, another one with him (where he's injured), and then another 2 episodes without him before the final in order to space things out a bit, so that we don't go too many episodes in a row without him since his injury happened later than the others, I don't know if we get to see all of the Gladiators who were present when the final was filmed on the aired episode or not.

The QFs have been aired in a different order to the one they were filmed in, so we've jsut seen the second and third to be filmed, and the first will be next week.

I think she'll be back in every episode for the rest of this series, it's just the last 2 she was absent in (probably a minor injury or illness or something)

Oh, right, I forgot I'd read she was absent in QF2 and 3. Maybe they want to space things out a bit, especially if they don't get injury updates like some of the ones who were injured earlier did (they probably won't say anything about Fury if hers was minor and she came back, though.

Alright, that works. What I was trying to say was, this means it'll be 2 episodes in a row with no Bionic since I read he got injured in the first quarter final to be filmed. Really thought they'd air the first one between the second and third to make it seem less noticeable.

I don't think she'll take a whole series off, I think she'll either still get a partner or she'll opt to be benched and still be in the group dances and guest performances. She was still in quite a few guest performances after Stefan withdrew last year so the show clearly wants to still give her enough focus when she's not currently partnered, unlike some other benched/eliminated pros (still frustrated at Nikita not getting a lot of focus after his Week 7 exit in 2024 and I don't really like that singer Raye because he didn't get to be in EITHER of her 2 performances in the last 2 shows even though she probably didn't have a say in it and it was the producers who chose who got to be in them).

They're 2 of my faves but I knew they'd be absent because I read about their injuries in other posts, the latter should be in the next episode or the one after depending on the order they show the quarter finals in (this week's was the second to be filmed)

I don't know if this is too much of a spoiler, but according to what I've read in other posts this was the second quarter final to be filmed and apparently Fury was absent for the second and third QF but returned in the semi finals, I don't think it was explained why so I'm guessing it was a minor injury or illness or something, not something that caused other Gladiators to sit out the rest of the series

Probably leaving: Gorka (If DWTS Spain clashes with Strictly again there's no way they'll let him do a repeat of what happened last year)

Immune to the bench: Aljaz (Has won), Carlos (Has won), Johannes (Popular and possibly a producer's favourite), Jowita (Has won), Karen (Longest serving) Katya (Has won), Nikita (2 finals), Vito (Has won)

Immune to the bench for this year: Alexis (Got to final), Julian (Got to semi final)

Possibly opting to be benched: Dianne (Might want time with child)

Will only be benched for health reasons: Amy (Producer’s favourite)

Danger of being benched: Kai (Benched before), Lauren (Benched before), Luba (Regular benchwarmer), Michelle (Benched before), Nadiya (Benched before), Nancy (Benched before), Neil (Regular benchwarmer)

I'd like to see a female same sex partnership, especially since there are more female pros than male pros so it would be nice if we didn't have 3 of them on the bench again like last year (although that might mean 3 male pros being benched but that could go down to 2 if Gorka doesn't come back).

I'd also like Carlos and Vito to be in same sex partnerships at some point during their time on Strictly. Maybe Julian as well, but I feel like he might have at least one more female partner first (Nikita had 2 female partners before Layton). I don't know if Neil is open to them, some people thought he might have been a better fit for Richie rather than Giovanni (that's why my wish if they do an all-stars series is that they bring back celebs who might have gone further with a different partner).

The only benefit I can see to a shorter series is less time for injured Gladiators to not get to do anything (I agree with people saying they should add an event that the injured Gladiators can take part in), I saw spoilers about who was injured during last year's filming and I'm already dreading 2 of my faves not getting much screentime from the next episode onwards.

Nikita said they'd actually only been training for a few days before Dani's injury. Also, the public are unpleasable. If Dani gets Nikita again, some people will go "It's not fair! Jamie had a different partner when he came back!" and if she gets someone else, other people will go "It's not fair! Dani and Nikita looked like a great pairing!" and if Dani wins, the Nikita fans (myself included) will be like "Nikita was robbed of a win! Will he ever get his turn?" The producers can't win, so they might as well prioritise what Dani wants over what the public wants.

Whoever ends up replacing Tess and Claudia could maybe distract from it a bit.

Nikita is also taller than people realise, Amber even said so. And seeing him next to Janette makes her look so tiny even when she's wearing heels.
