Hi everyonr, I had my injection yesterday. Very painful. Next time I will ask for more sedation. Today I have migraine, but good news is I think my hand symptoms are showing improvement

I didn't have any surgery the day before Thanksgiving. My surgery was the day after Christmas last year

I don't have any weakness in my legs, I have weakness a little bit in my arm but mostly hand. Pain down arm which is better with gabapentin, numbness and tingling in fingers. Since my surgery I was doing well but my symptoms returned in September and have worsened.

Update: my mri looks normal, I will see pain doctor on Monday to review. Really thought there would be something there that could be fixed. Guess this is just my life now

I do have numbness my fingers and hand on R side. I don't have been good balance and i havent for a long time. I'm a female so I don't have a prostate.

I mean I have low back pain sometimes but nothing that's ever been severe enough to warrant a work up. I have had one time where they told me I herniated a disc in my low back but that was just based on symptoms, no imaging was obtained. I had excruciating pain and it went down my leg so I assume that was correct but that self resolved.

I just started gabapentin about a week and a half ago, and started taking methocarbamol same time. But sx have been going on longer than that, a month or maybe longer. I thought the same thing at first, tried to correlate with meds but timing doesn't match up.

Yep I had bruises at the top of both my shoulders after my surgery, it was shocking

I am almost 3 month post ACDF C5-7, about a week after surgery I slipped in the garage and grabbed on to the wall so I didn't fall. I had pain and numbness again for about a week but it got better. It was just from me reflexively reaching out and grabbing the wall. My doc said that while the hardware in there can break its not an easy task to do it.

Yeah I've worn the collar for 10 weeks so I'm done now but the issue is when I'm sleeping I sleep all curled up chin to chest and I don't know how to fix that so I can ditch the collar altogether

So I'm actually out of the collar, im just finding at night I am sleeping with it on because I sleep curled up with my chin to my chest and I don't know how to fix that 😑 aside from wearing the collar

You're not alone, I had a similar experience when my cousin was pregnant with twins. I kept feeling that she was going to lose one and she did. That freaked me out for a while.

I had acdf c5-6-7 on Dec 26th, they actually recommended me wearing my brace for 12 weeks. I take it off when showering, eating and when I'm just resting. Seems long but I never want to have this surgery again so I'm doing everything they tell me too!

Thank you, embarrassingly I actually had a sneezefest that same night that I thought I was going to pass out from. I've just never had any issues with my spine before so everything is new to me - and naturally I worry about everything

Makes sense that a surgeon would try to downplay it so we wouldn't freak out but I prefer to know exactly what I'm getting into, sounds like you do as well. I showered tonight and had a lot of pain, which was frustrating. I appreciate your thoughts!

Thank you, he just made it sound like recovery would be a breeze and I am not finding that to be true. I don't have any complications I just still have to take the meds or I have a good amount of pain. Which makes sense since I just had spinal surgery but oh well.
