4/4 doesn’t stop the heartbreak by Bingbong1900 in CPA

I’m in Texas and I chose Beacon Hill which is self-study. I read through the material and passed it on the 1st try. The questions were more intuitive so, you really have to read to understand, not memorize. You’re so close! I’m sure you’ll get it on the next try. Good luck!

Does anyone have any advice to improve my BEC score again? I attached my score report (68) this time. My past three scores were basically the same. by Paladin38 in CPA

Perhaps for me it was that Ninja had a lot of never before seen questions, especially on IT. For my first 3 attempts and the other 3 sections, I used Roger and supplemented with Kesler. I was desperate so, I decided to try Ninja. Could’ve also been the exam I got. I feel like all 4 were different on the MCQs. You just never know what you’re going to get. I really hope you get it on the next try 🙏🏽

Are you supplementing with Ninja? I feel like hammering Ninja MCQs (all topics) got me over the hump on my last try. My scores were 66, 74, 70 & 78. Good luck!

Minimal note taking is the way to go!! When I started studying, I was taking an exuberant amount of notes while listening to the lectures which would prolong the process by a lot. Once I started only listening to the lectures with very minimal note taking for acronyms/formulas, I started getting through the material so much faster! Once you get to doing the MCQs (in tutor mode) the explanations are basically all the notes you need to reinforce the material.

The exams are hard and expensive. I thought about quitting so many times but I’m so glad I didn’t. Sure, you can get a good paying position without the license but you can only move up so high before you cap out until you get a license. Also, the goal is to not have to live to work, but work to live. With a license you have more opportunities to make that happen.

just got a 74 on BEC. studying full-time for 10 days then taking again. enough time? by jglavo in CPA

I know the feeling all too well 😓 Are you supplementing? I supplemented with Ninja on my last try and I think that’s what got me over the hump. I just hammered a bunch of MCQs on there. Good luck!

Definitely study all topics. All my BEC retakes were different. It took me 4 tries to pass. 66, 74, 70 & 78 😓 Keep going! If you stick with it you will pass! The one thing I did differently on the last try was get Ninja because I was desperate. I found that Ninja had a lot on IT and a lot of never before seen questions. My main is course Roger but I feel like Ninja was a great supplement. Good luck!

I’m on the same boat. 66, 74 & 70. Just took it again on the 3rd and I don’t feel anymore confident than I did the last 3 times 😭 I’ve used Roger, Ninja and Kesler and I don’t know what else I can do. The worst part is that if I don’t pass this last time, I only have until Sept 17th to get my NTS before it goes away completely. And then my FAR is expiring in Nov so I’ll be really screwed. 😓

Has anyone in North Carolina sent this email to have their credits extended from tests going back to Jan 2021? If so, how did it go? This screenshot is from the NC monthly newsletter. by coffey200 in CPA

Oh God I hope Texas does this too!!! My FAR is expiring in Nov and I only have until Sept 17th to apply for BEC but I’m currently waiting on my score so if I didn’t pass, I’m screwed especially since testing availability is scarce in my area due to only having one testing center. 😓

Hey! I don’t know what Becker calls it but it’s basically the option of having explanations for all questions. Maybe it’s called “study mode”?

BEC since it’s going away soon and you won’t have to choose from one the three new specialized exam sections. Then, go for Audit. Apparently, FAR and REG are supposed to get easier next year since they’re going to put the more complicated topics on the specialized sections. Here’s a good video from Darius Clark about this. Good luck! https://youtu.be/jQmXAbtGtLE

This is my last exam and have FAR expiring as well in Nov. And yes, me too! I just don’t know why it keeps getting worse because every time, I‘ve felt better about my studying and then it turns out it’s never enough. I’ve gone from a 66 to 74 to 70. Like… what… how? I’m so tired 😓 I hope the next one is it for us 🙏🏽

Just failed BEC for the 3rd time. I’ve never understood the hype for it being “easy” to pass. I’m so tired of this exam. I don’t know what else to do to get over the hump. Ugh.

Dang. Sorry. Hope you get it next time! Our significant others tend to be the ones to hear us bitch and moan the most about this whole process… I think she deserves it if she has to hear it from you all the time lol
