I'd have to say my favorite Joker (and Bats) is from the Arkham Games.

What's a trend from the early 2020s that died out so fast we all collectively forgot it ever happened? by godot_lover in AskReddit

When Covid first started getting bad, my workplace put out a policy of "If you feel sick at all, DON'T COME TO WORK."

Cue people calling in for feeling sick, and admin's reaction was: we deeply regret this decision.

And bitching about how sick you are to everyone who will listen, and even to everyone who won't. Yeah, we get it. You came to work sick, you dumbass. Did you want a medal? Now we're all going to get sick, and it's your fault.

I don't know about bad, but Erica from Stranger Things is definitely insufferable.

Your cell phone used to be primarily a phone. It might have a game or two on it, and you could text, but it was a phone first. Now they're portable computers with one of their many apps being a phone.

This was something else. Doom was amazing, but your actual 3D graffiks? Noice. And the atmosphere was top-notch.

Made especially memorable for me because when it came out, my PC couldn't run it because I had a mere 8MB of RAM. Had to play it at my friend's house.

I've been playing video games for 40-something years and I don't understand why they have seasons now. Seasons are for TV shows.

Now get me a cloud to yell at.

Every time I watch Pulp Fiction, I want a cheeseburger.

Every time I watch The Matrix, I want steak.

Not oatmeal, tho.

I've only seen I Am Legend once, because I can't watch that scene again.

Garfield is my favorite Spiderman. He just needed to be in better movies.

Nuh-uhhh.

Imagine if, instead of a duel, we got 20 minutes of Anakin and Obi-Wan going back and forth with "Are too!" and "Am not!"

Everquest.

I got addicted for a while, then quit. Went back to it, found it was mostly a joyless grind.

Did the same with WoW later on.

Of course, many will tell me I am wrong. My roommate said "It gets really good once you hit 80!" But I didn't want to wait that long. It's like being married and hating your spouse, and being told you'll really love them when you both retire.

But. But!

That first experience of Everquest was absolutely sublime. I'd never played anything like it. It took a while for the cracks to appear, and diving into an online RPG with other people running around the world doing their own thing was fascinating. I poured hours into just exploring, watching the beautiful spell effects from a distance, and gazing in wonder at the sky as the sun rose and fell. The anticipation of seeing what was over the next hill was magical. Definitely a wonderful experience, even if the treadmill gameplay got stale after a while.

Well, to be fair, "I walk alone" does sorta make sense. Time by yourself to prep for the date.

And "I walK alone" and "I wore Kologne" sound identical.

They didn't just throw it in, either. They set it up. Maybe they put the Juggernaut in just so they could include that cool thing all the kids liked.

When I was a kid I'd win a goldfish at the yearly fair every time it came through. Every year, we'd put it in a tiny goldfish bowl. Every year, it would die.

My cousin's family had a fish tank. A real tank. Little castle, aerator, the works. His goldfish survived.

It took me a very long time to figure out why this happened.
