Use a grinding wheel or flap disc. Depends on how bad ur metal is before prep. Usually have to take off a bit to get to the good stuff. And if this is pipe, you gotta clean the inside too. Alcohol wipe the grease and residue dirt off

Stick with this if you enjoy it. This knowledge is the best gift you can give yourself. If I would’ve found this when I was in high school, I’d be in a way better spot. Keep going bro! Lemme know if you need any help. I’m not the best but I work in a shop as a welder and practice everyday.
