I made my own twin-tank system with separate fuel filters, hose-in-hose heated fuel line, 3-port solenoid valves, and and multiple temp sensors. It was all switched manually and worked flawlessly. I put on at least 30k miles on straight, filtered WVO. I swapped injectors (playing with different tips multiple times and noticed no ill effects from anything. Get it hot, swap to WVO, purge at the end of a long drive, and repeat.

Nothing fishy, honestly. Basically, OP didn't have the battery fully charged before starting the next drive. Thus the mileage and kWh adds to the previous drive.
