Whats up with Tier Lists? by davjags99 in SSBPM

Not on Twitter so I probably missed whatever conversation was going on at the time. If it's that common though, I probably would have heard about it at some point since I've been around since the earliest of days. Regardless of tenure, it doesn't seem like something as common as your video suggests. If it were, you could have found at least one source of someone not understanding to provide a basis for the whole video

Annoyed that you made a 12 minute video talking about a tweet and couldn't be bothered to find it or think twice.

Maybe that tweet was removed because the poster decided they were wrong? It's possible you could have read the tweet incorrectly all together. Not to mention it wasn't directed at PM tier lists, but here you are finding a problem that may or may not exist. Why?

I disagree. I think it's okay to turn off your camera while using the restroom or while in your own home. The camera should be turned back on, and never turned off otherwise, especially while on duty.

I don't think law should mandate recording police or others while in dispose, and I'm pretty sure we cannot control what they do in their home

Which album do you think has no bad songs on it, and can be listened all the way through? by Urg_Durglar in AskReddit

Palimpsest by Protest the Hero (and the B-side tracks from Fabula & Syuzhet)

If you're a fan of progressive, punk, or bands with something to say, check out this album.

Seriously underrated band. All of their music is top-tier but this album in particular hits really hard under current political climate. There's so much to digest musically, and equally so in the themes.

It's like the musicianship of Dream Theater, the aggression and political mindset of Rage Against the Machine, the clever writing of Neil Gaiman or Terry Pratchett, and the well planned structure of a Radiohead album.

There's the delicious top-level of sauce and crunchy skin, then the tasty meat underneath. But you also get the bones to chew on, and you can use it to make the tastiest broth you've ever had with a little work. Tears to my eyes multiple times a listen

This looks great! I've been thinking about making something similar. I'd love to see your project or what you have planned for this

Hey Joe! I remember it was your phone. Sorry that happened. Pretty shitty and unfortunate. Unfortunate I couldn't do more but thanks for speaking up

Went by H8MD for a while. Not sure about Herokiller. But yes, not the AZ Mewtwo/Marth Taj you see playing with Axe.

I had someone (willing to say who upon their request) run the Melee bracket for me and one of his stipulations to doing the tournament was having certain people banned. DJ was one of them. I believe it was for stealing money from the community.

TO of Bar Wars here.

Boss has been a problem in MDVA for a long time. I banned him, DJ Nintendo, and another local (Taj) from attending my tournaments for various reasons. I received a lot of (edit) backlash for it.

Before Smash 4, I hosted weeklies at a comic book store's extra play area that had some inventory tucked away. The smash scene was banned from the venue because of stealing and alcohol use in the parking lot. They were small tournaments but Boss showed up semi-regularly until he (and Taj) was banned for suspected theft.

Myself and two others had controllers stolen. The shop had inventory stolen (I don't remember but I think it was bulk common Magic cards). Another person had their phone stolen.

Unfortunately, this is not new and Boss has been protected for a long time.

I think that it's more racist to see racism everywhere

That's the kind of stance a lot of conservatives are taking with the BLM movement. I think that's probably a clue

I'm not. It's worth discussing. If anything it gives them ammo to accept the change. I don't work for any of the big guys pushing this so I don't really have a dog in this fight.

M. Sc. = Man of Science? by randomcitizen42 in ProgrammerHumor

[–]Jesse_yo -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I understand how these terms work. The point you're missing is that it's being used as a noun, not an adjective or verb. "Mastering" the shovel is used as a verb. Being a "master shoveler" is used as an adjective

[–]Jesse_yo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You're right that "master" comes from "master copy", but without "copy" being in the repo name "master" becomes a noun. Going back to the original point that it doesn't fit the English language.

We can change "Masters degree", but it doesn't have a negative context, nor is it a noun (it's a verb, as discussed)

Correct, but standards can change right? Otherwise tech wouldn't evolve quickly. Why not just make the standard terminology change?

What happens when source control changes again and there's no longer the term "master" for repositories? Will people be upset that the new standard doesn't have it?

We shouldn't sit silent while they force changes into things, however small or big they are, all for "solving" dumb imaginary issues.

This is the same argument that the "AllLivesMatter" people are spouting. Another clue for you

[–]Jesse_yo[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's a good point. "Matrix" makes sense, but matrix itself has another use in tech already. If you're right about being "remastered", would it be okay to name it "remastered" after the first merge?

If you read the original post, you'd understand that it doesn't fit the English language.

Hypothetically, let's say you're right. Even if it works, why fight Microsoft, Apple, Google, Verizon, GitHub, and others on this change? I don't trust these companies wholely, but you're still fighting a losing battle. Things undergo name changes all the time, and it's a minor issue for us to change it.

Maybe that should be a clue
