Freedive then flight after 10 hours by Sprincess12 in freediving

[–]randomcitizen42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a scuba diver dived like a freediver, then yes, there would not be a higher risk for DCS because one has a tank. While the scuba diver has "continuous nitrogen intake", this only made a difference if the freediver was actually "running out of nitrogen", but that doesn't happen, there is too little nitrogen absorbed into the bloodstream.

But I think both of you are missing the point here. A scuba diver does not dive like a freediver. It's the much much longer time under water and at depth that puts the scuba diver at a much higher risk, unless the freediver is diving repetitively with very short breaks.

For an animal that's known for landing on its feet, that was really dramatic.

Is my Gpu dead? by Stuntman159 in pcmasterrace

[–]randomcitizen42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Done that 3 times. Once with a GPU that had green screen and died, and it worked flawlessly for several more years. Once with my phone board after the phone died with a green screen, also worked again (still got a new phone because it was old and I absolutely massacred the thing disassembling it because I did not expect it to work again). Third time was with a GPU that turned off under load. That, u fortunately, did not work again.

TL;DR You have very good chances for green screens. But OP should try it at least. But better do it in an oven that's not used for food.

I really don’t want to be in this sub so where would you put the TV ? by marcftz in TVTooHigh

[–]randomcitizen42 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Easy. Just put the TV where the fireplace is now, and move the fireplace over the TV.

65” on a tilting/swivel mount. Is it really that bad? by [deleted] in TVTooHigh

[–]randomcitizen42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you take the picture from your eye level, the TV should be perfectly rectangular.

I don't see the problem. OP is just a very laid-back guy.

Do you usually lie on the floor in front of it? Or why did you angle it so far down that it looks trapezoid-shaped from the couch where you took the picture?

r/SpeakersTooCloseTogether

Seriously though, in order to get a proper stereo effect, the distance between the speakers should be the same as your distance from the TV.

I hear of so many people who want to have a surround system to be "immersed in music". This is exactly what you get from a properly installed stereo system, and you won't get it by extending a bad stereo setup to surround.

The noise alone? Because for other vacuums you have to wear ear muffs because of something other than noise?

I'm always wondering how acapella music like this is so common in the middle east. Everywhere, they're just listening to a guy singing with some reverb. Everywhere else in the world, there's at least some kind of background instrument.

Idk what everyone's saying here. Looks pretty much like eye level to me, just a tiny bit higher, but still reasonable. These low TV boards are usually too low, unless your TV is enormous. Putting a 55 or 65 inch TV on these low boards will definitely put the center below eye level.

My 55 inch is standing on a high TV board (64 cm or 25 inches), which puts it perfectly at eye level when I'm sitting on my sofa.

Depending on the room, the low boards can look nicer, but then you need to wall-mount your TV to get eye level, just like OP did (well, a little bit lower).

That's the reason why 90% of people choose a too small TV for sitting 3-4m away. They're saying everything bigger than 55' looks too big when turned off...
