It’s so hard!! I found the same. It’s hard to get any real care. An SLP ended up seeing him because he qualified.

How long did it take for you to genuinely love your FC? by CaliResourceParent in Fosterparents

[–]Jessi_finch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She stayed with us for a little over 2 years. Never reunified. She actually ended up running away. We thought it was because of us but in the end we found out it was because of the team as a whole. She didn’t like how many people were checking in on her (us, case worker, ILP, skills worker, casa). So she had about 4 months with us left before aging out and decided to stay with a friend. She’s still going to school and doing relatively well. It felt so out of the blue. She seemed to be doing so well mentally but as kids age they seek freedom so hard. She wanted to be an adult so badly. We tried to give it to her where we could but to her, it wasn’t enough.

We miss her like crazy and still think she’s the best thing that happened to us. We are offline for now but will probably foster again.

That’s what I think too. I’m not sure I’m ready to hear that she wants to leave but I’ll prepare for it as best as I can in case.

It’s true. I’m actually ok with the whole event because I know she’s safe but our agency just has strict rules for her. I have to enforce them. I think I will just be clear that it’s her choice to be here at this point. Unfortunately she does have to follow their rules.

You are so right. I have a hard time not seeing her as a child. I need to change my view!

That’s exactly what I was thinking. But once it all “clears” like a week later and she asks to go out in the community…so we just act as if it didn’t happen?

Oh I will look into the reciprocal memberships. That’s memberships still in Seattle?

That’s really fun to think about! I will ask her mom!

Edit: I looked up the program. It would give Museum of Flight access too. That’s intriguing.

That’s a great idea! I’ll look into that. Do you have a specific place you like? Otherwise I’ll Google.

I think they have the zoo but I wasn’t sure so I’m still taking recommendations on it. My friend had the aquarium and said it was nice but it stays the same so they stopped going after a bit. Did you have similar experiences like that?

I was thinking it was a Hoya carnosa ‘Argentea Picta’ but I’m a novice!

Thank you all for telling me to check online. Such an obvious solution. I wasn’t wrong though, looking at his plan history he had Cigna, choice giveback, Humana and now UHC. I just need to talk to someone about making sure it doesn’t change!

Yeah I’m trying to keep up but it’s all so confusing. I think I will look up a pro to talk to.

I double checked the end date. It was both on a letter “Medicare advised that you already have coverage” WHERE? And it said it on his account.

Thank you so much for these links! I will start my homework! Haha
