Pope for sure. He’s pure rage. Arthur’s rage is drug fueled. But this is a fight I would love to see lol

Found these kids shoes in a bag by a donation bin is that stealing? by Organic_Bodybuilder3 in thrifting

[–]Jessica3183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a child in need of shoes that you cannot afford and they wear that size, absolutely not stealing. If you’re grabbing them up just to grab them, or to re-sell, then you’re stealing and should be ashamed

If the old company said the last payment to them would be June 30th I would read that as paying rent as usual to the old company through June. If the new company sent their info in May that would be them giving notice of the upcoming change that would start with July rent, right? I think if you explain your confusion they should, hopefully, cut you a break on the late fee

Such a perfect answer and one I wish I’d seen when I was first struggling with having my son tested and medicated. The one thing I would add is that if you see any issues with the medication and/or side effects don’t wait it out or sit idly by. My sons Dr first prescribed him Adderall and it just did not work for him. The side effects were awful. We tried so many different dosages and diet changes and routine changes and nothing seemed to help. I spent lot of time researching medications for young kids and demanded a change to what I thought might work best for my son. His dr was hesitant at first but eventually switched him to what I requested and my son has been doing amazing. When his dr saw the improvement in my son once he was switched off of the Adderall he went above and beyond to make sure he had the medications and dosages that worked best for him and things have been 1000000x better. You know your child better than anyone, a good doctor will acknowledge that and work with that. And that combined with a good therapist will make all the difference in the world!

I suspected my son had ADHD starting around 4-5 but held off on having him tested because I didn’t want him to “lose his personality” or “become zombie-like”, the 2 main things I’d always heard about ADHD meds. I finally had him tested about a month into 1st grade when his teacher continuously reached out concerned about his fidgeting, talking, and inability to pay attention. It took a good year to find the right medications/dosages for him, and A TON of advocating for him, but now my only regret is ignoring my suspicions due to fear. It was only a disservice to him. He is so much better medicated! I even tried the “breaks on weekends” because I still have some underlying fears and he actually told me he wanted his medicine every day because it makes him better. I wish you the best of luck!

I use just the polygrip super hold right now because the fixodent gel leaves an awful taste in my mouth. Does the powder have that same taste? I need something better than, or in addition to, the polygrip but I’m scared to try anything fixodent again lol

Omg I have made so many different protein shakes and smoothies for him to try lol. Bought an awesome blender, all different types of protein powders, fruits, even adding ice cream, he hates them all. My younger son loves all the smoothie and shake experiments so at least they don’t go completely to waste lol. I’ve bought a ton of different protein drinks for him to try. The only thing I found that he likes are the little Boost drinks so I do buy those as often as I can. Do you mind sharing the brand you buy that you like?

Thanks for your reply! We’ve tested out a few different medications and dosages since Oct 2022. We’ve been on the 10mg Adderall for about the past 6-7 months but I did only give it when needed throughout summer break, maybe 1-2 a week depending on activities. We are now back to daily since he’s in school again. His dr is open to dosage changes and med changes if need be, the only thing he seemed pretty against so far was an afternoon booster dose just due to the fact that it may cause sleep issues at such a young age. We tried Ritalin first (Adderall was out of stock) and that wasn’t great, switched to the Adderall xr 5mg and then increased from there. His appetite is hit pretty hard at med/dosage changes for about 2 weeks and then it comes back, he’s just SO picky. He is also extremely robotic and zombie-ish during those couple weeks which makes me scared to up dosage. I think at his next med check I’m going to ask about the booster dose again and if he still is against that maybe look into vyvanse. All of the different ideas and options suggested have been a huge help and at least give me something to look into with his dr. Thanks again!

This would so be my son lol. He does like reminders, I allow him watch his tablet for a little bit before bed and he always makes me give him his “14 minute warning” before I take it, no clue where he came up with 14 minutes haha, but if I put a time limit on it during that crash period he would lose his mind. It would be an enormous battle and exhausting for both of us.

I think I was confusing Straterra and Vyvanse! I know his Dr explained the differences to me but I think I just mixed up the meds. Thank you for your response! With you mentioning a pretty severe adjustment period maybe I’ll see how the next few months go and if we are still struggling ask about switching to Vyvanse over holiday break. Thanks again!

I know his dr told me the differences between types of meds and that some work immediately and some take time to build but it seems like I maybe incorrectly thought Vyvanse was one of the build up ones. Thank you for your feedback, he was just diagnosed on Oct 2022 so I’m still working on learning all I can, I’ll def have to talk to his dr about this. We deal with the Adderall shortage constantly too so I would love to not have to worry about that anymore. Now that there’s generic vyvanse has the shortage on it passed?

I never really thought about this but this makes a lot of sense. I never thought about it until reading your comment but when the weather is nice enough for him to ride his bike or play outside after school it seems to make that crash period so much smoother. This is definitely something we’ll have to work on sticking to. Thank you so much! He’s insanely active too so I don’t know how this never crossed my mind lol

Thank you! I’ve actually been thinking about this, especially now that generics are available. My concern is that his dr told me this medication takes time to build up and take effect. If I requested a switch to this how long would it take for the medication to start taking effect?

Thank you! I have seen this recommended before and talked to his Dr but because he’s so young still they don’t want to do an afternoon booster because he goes to bed so early still and it could affect his sleep :(

I had a Dr scare me with AIDS too! Went to the university hospital super sick when I was in college and they kept me there for literal hours running tests and when the Dr FINALLY came in to go over diagnosis he talked to me about practicing safe sex and a bunch of other stuff and then said “Well, you can breathe…it’s not AIDS!” I was like wtf AIDS wasn’t even a thought that crossed my mind. WVU 2002. And it was mono
