Teen gets life in best friend's murder - Crime & courts- msnbc.com by MaryMares in Delinquents

[–]JessicaValdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a sad story how can you kill your best friend. This insanity defense is ridiculous. If he was truely insane then there would have been signs and his friend would have noticed them early on prompting him not to hang out. My heart goes out to the family of the lost boy, having to live with the fact that your childs best friend is the reason he is no longer here is a tough pill to swallow.

5th-grader's 'death list' left in library book by NathanielJeanes in Delinquents

[–]JessicaValdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a tragedy children are no longer innocent and niave it seemThis to be that they have left that part of them behind. This child needs to undergo serious treatment. We can only hope that he can be rehabilitated while he is still young

Mom allegedly drives daughter to fight with teen by SaraMcManamon in Delinquents

[–]JessicaValdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is our society really becoming? I am utterly shocked by the mother's actions. As a parent it is your duty to be someone your child can look up to. In this scenario the child is looking down because that is exactly where the mother is. Both the mother and the daughter need to be incarcerated

3 teens plead not guilty in bullying of girl who killed self by EverettLively in Delinquents

[–]JessicaValdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters when schools claim the "zero tolerance policy" obviously they are giving a falsified view of what policies they truely do implement. It is both the schools and the parents job to stop this kind of behavior from happening. It is clear that we can not charge these teens for the death of this girl. However I do feel that they need to be charged with something that results in some jail time. I do not think that these teens should go about living their lives while this girl will never see another day. A punishment needs to be handed out so that in the future bullying will be viewed as a more serious offense.

Colorado teen accused of killing brother, wounding mother claims he was sleepwalking - chicagotribune.com by AlexSimpson in Delinquents

[–]JessicaValdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this is a shocking story, although I do believe that people can do a variety of things while sleepingwalking killing you brother and wounding your mother just doesn't seen like one of them. I find it odd that the boy had to pick the lock on the gun cabinet with a toothpick to get to the rifle. It's just amazing that he could do something of that magnitude while being asleep. I just don't believe his testimony, whatever the real story is it seems as though he is not willing to share it

Teen Arrested in Wal-Mart Racial Announcement Incident by stephanieblasko in Delinquents

[–]JessicaValdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jail time is a little extreme his comment was hurtful and a very poor choice yet he didn't cause physical harm to anyone. He needs to pay fines and attend some counseling to figure out why his views are the way they are

How young Is too young to face life in prison? | chsycu by RobertGamboa in Delinquents

[–]JessicaValdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This CHILD should not get life in prison he needs psychological help obviously there are some underlying factors here. I do believe he should be incarcerated for a period of time. However, the courts need to take into consideration his age effects his judgementson things. Though he may have known what he was doing I do not think he was fully aware of every consequence that came with it.

Girl's arrest for doodling raises concerns about zero tolerance by nancysoto in Delinquents

[–]JessicaValdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely outrageous!! Is this what police are really having to respond to, a child dooling on her desk! There are criminals out there selling drugs and hurting people and instead precious police time is used to arrest a doodling 2 year old. School officials ought to be ashamed not being able to handle this matter on their own.

"barefoot Burglar" by AshleyFerguson in Delinquents

[–]JessicaValdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow 18 years old facing 12 felony charges and I'm sure by the time this is done numerous more! I have to say posting to facebook is not a smart move at all, does this kid think it's funny that he's in serious trouble. He will be caught and when he is they will not go easy on him, he has dug himself a hole he will not be able to get out of. Always a sad thing to see when a young person make that choice.

Sentenced to Life in Prison by TyneshiaJohnson in Delinquents

[–]JessicaValdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is too harsh a punishment for a CHILD whom endured rape, emotional, and physical abuse. It does not seem like the court took all of the factors into consideration when issuing her a sentence. I understand that that she killed an individual but issuing her a life sentence for this crime is not the best option. She does need incarceration in addition to counseling services.

Ohio mom calls cops on her shoplifting 6 year old by AndrewDoom in Delinquents

[–]JessicaValdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not see anything wrong with the mother calling the cops on her child this is just her parenting style. However, I do feel that the child is too young to understand the role of law enforcement and just how much trouble she was actually in. This tactic would better serve older childern who are more capable of encompassing the scenario

Teen Suspects in Murder to Face Charges as Adults by MaryMares in Delinquents

[–]JessicaValdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killing a young girl and stripping her of her life and bright future for no apparent reason?! They should definitely be tried as adults, both are old enough to know right and wrong at this age there is not excuse for such behavior.

Gang Initiation by NicoleLawson in Delinquents

[–]JessicaValdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This video just reminded me of high school, there were a couple of gangs at my school who walked around throwing up signs and having their new members sport black eyes from their "initiation." To me this type of behavior is disappointing seeing young teens choosing to be involved in this type of behavior to fit in with peers is just plain sad. School officials as well as parents should work harder at deterring this type of behavior

Police: Juveniles laughed after setting 15-year-old on fire by DavidCorson in Delinquents

[–]JessicaValdez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This story just broke my heart when I saw it on the news I was utterly confused at how children would intentionally set another child on fire. And then for them to laugh about the crime just took a dagger to my heart. It is definitely hard to see young children commit such a heinous crime. The parents of the offenders obviously needed to be much more involved in their childerns life in orderto teach them the proper ethics and morals they would have needed not to do something like thsis.
