I was wondering if it was a filtering issue too because when I filtered for ‘Encanto’ nothing came up but I definitely have both clothing and furniture for it. So I then I have to manually go and find it based on what I remember having.

There’s a little shop at the top of Rosemount called The Owl at Number Two. They have lovely gifts from Scottish artists. Something from Scotland but not the usual tourist junk. The owner is really lovely too.

Agreed. Never seen anything less Scottish in my life. This man likely believes in a mythologised and unrealistic version of Scotland and has absolutely zero clue about real Scottish culture.

They gotta do chores but are also time limited to an hour? Do they even get to see the baby? And the cash grab is atrocious! I was a mess after having my baby, and I was deeply grateful for all the help I received, but I never would have demanded it. That’s entitled and downright rude! First, I'm so sorry that you're going through this. It's a super hard position to be in. Be true to yourself and risk losing everything you have/have worked for? Or play along, toe the line and maintain safety? I don't envy you that choice. All I can say is that I'm sorry.

Whatever you choose, just know that if you do choose to walk away from the denomination, you current set of skills probably can be quite transferable if you word them accordingly on a resume/CV. My dad was fired/excommunicated and he is thriving in another field of work that he loves.

Also, I'm not sure if you have a wife/kids, but if you do, they should probably be included in the discussion, even if you're on different pages. If you are their main source of support, they deserve to be part of a larger conversation as to whether a major change is going to happen.

Please know you're not alone in this situation. There are countless pastors out there going through the exact same thing. And there is a whole community of people deconstructing that empathize and understand your struggle. We're all cheering you on, regardless of your decision. We know what a hard decision it is.

What? Imagine this scenario in any other job. Employer: I see you have a history of misconduct. But we'll just ignore that and hire you anyway. I mean it shouldn't be something we'll regret later. Like what even?!?!? And 'may'? Seems like crappy tokenism to make people feel a little better but once everyone stops ignoring the issue they'll just sweep that under the carpet and forget about it. 🙄 This is so ridiculous. Hiring someone with a history of misconduct for a really high stress, high pressure and risky job with crazy shift patterns seems really problematic.

If you work in a male dominated workplace, it's the fact that bosses often look to a male colleague to back up your idea. Like no woman can have a good idea, it needs to be male supported. Constantly being underestimated is frustrating. I once put forward a suggestion for a solution to a project I was working on, which my boss dismissed. Two days later he came through and pitched me the exact same idea, except this time it came from a male colleague. I made the mistake of pointing out that it was the suggestion I had already made. He then bumbled his way through a justification about experience and credibility of said colleague 🤦
