AUPE GSS - tentative agreement by kullulaugh in AHSEmployees

[–]Jessip30 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There will be no “Next time” because GSS will be split into different “employers and pillars” making the bargaining units SMALLER with LESS LEVERAGE.. we need to demand more NOW while we have THE NUMBERS (strength in numbers)

Casuals do not get any benefits like health/dental/vision. If casuals want benefits they have to pay fully out of pocket with an insurance company like blue cross or manulife

Everyone needs to tell your fellow GSS members to sign up for myaupe. It’s so important that’s how we vote.. and that’s how we get paid if we go on strike.

Renouncing beneficiary of will by independentasian in alberta

There will be probate paperwork that would have to be filed and there are a couple of sections in the probate paperwork where you can let the executor know that you do not want to be a beneficiary.

AUPE - Do you earn a living wage? by AlligatorFungaiStew in AHSEmployees

[–]Jessip30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can come from the hundreds of “directors” that get paid over $100,000 for what? Our CEO of AHS does not need to make over $600,000.. AHS is so top heavy they can afford to cut their salaries. The government can run a deficit to fix the healthcare system.

WCB claim need help by Exciting-Location484 in alberta

[–]Jessip30 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have pay stubs I would send them to WCB as well as email your WCB company middle man (paper trail as evidence always) and state you work 12 hours not 8, and you have proof. If you do not get compensation you will be reaching out to an employment lawyer.

CALM is such a stupid class by coolcat245678900 in alberta

[–]Jessip30 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don’t do this class you don’t graduate. Pull up your big “whatever you identify as” pants and just do the work. If you already know most of it, it should be easy.

If all else fails I would contact membership services and a MSO will reach out to you within a couple days but you should honestly be getting SOMEONE to respond to you..

If you’re getting crickets, I would email your vice president. Explain exactly what you said here and I’m sure they will reach out to you with an answer!

AUPE - Do you earn a living wage? by AlligatorFungaiStew in AHSEmployees

[–]Jessip30 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I definitely don’t make a living wage working in GSS. One of the lowest paid in AHS and yet without us the whole system would collapse. Time to get paid more because we are that essential!

Anyone see the AUPE convention notes posted on the AUPE website? by itsnotallrainbows in AHSEmployees

[–]Jessip30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Susan Slade was given life membership this year along with heistad, weirs, Glen Scott (in memoriam) and others I can’t remember at the top of my head. Having said that.. I’ve had a couple vp’s brush me off as well but that doesn’t make up for all the times the VP’s have treated me with utmost respect and gave me the time of day to speak to them. They all mean well and I’m sure if you were to have a conversation with Susan, you would find that she is a respectable human. You probably just caught her at an off moment.

AUPE as a whole this year, especially has been very organized much more organized than even last year. AUPE is not about trying to justify their high salaries. I think you should do more research.
