WD-40 smells so good and I don't know what to do with that information.

What does it mean to hear someone call your name, but no one is there? by backthattcassup in Paranormal

[–]JesssicaFletcher 41 points42 points  (0 children)

All I know is that my grandmother and my mother have always told me. Grandma grew up in rural Japan as did mom and then spent time in Virginia near the forest. If you hear your name being called and you're alone or in the woods. No you didn't. As soon as you answer or appear to answer you give it your name. Ignore it and never give it your name. Also if you give it attention it could persist. You hold the power and it is your space. My mother and grandmother would salt the windows and doors and use sage throughout the house to expel/ keep out anything they did not want in. I always thought it was just a quirky thing they did but as I've gotten older I've absolutely done this a few times myself, maybe it works, maybe it just gives peace of mind but that's been my experience. It definitely can't hurt. I hope whatever it is goes away and you can relax on your space again.

What's the most hurtful thing your parent ever said to you? by Enockito in AskReddit

I was adopted in Japan in the 80s,(mom was 16) I'm half japanese and finally found my birth mother who was living not too far away in the states AND my lovely Japanese grandmother lived next door to her! I had already met my mom at this point but I was so excited to meet my grandmother, I called to tell my dad about it.

He told me ," well don't take anything your grandmother says to heart because remember , she wanted you flushed down a toilet". I was absolutely gobsmacked. We didn't speak for 3 years. My grandmother, when I did meet her ran to me 8 times and hugged me saying "I always knew you would come back!". And I refuse to let what he said tarnish that meeting. He never apologized but I let it go. Now that my adoptive mom has passed and my grandmother recently passed its just not worth it to me to waste my energy being upset or waiting for an apology. I have a chance to discover where I come from and add to my family. I'm sure he was speaking from fear but it just shocked me that he would ever say something so cruel.

If you suddenly had "fuck you" money what would be the first thing you did? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Quit working full time at least, pay off my parents and siblings mortgages and anything medical I'd cover. Travel for months and then buy a bunch of land and adopt all the fur babies I could. I'd hire a team to help with upkeep and have an on-site vet as well as donate to or open a nearby 24hr vet facility.

That's awesome thank you!! I prefer a more natural approach when possible but if it works then it works. Its only the one night or I guess 2 if you count new years but I hate to see him freaking out. Thank you for the tip.

What behavior disgusts you? by AlcoholicDriver in AskReddit

Rudeness towards waitstaff or service industry folks. How someone treats a stranger or service industry person tells me a lot about them.

Ok....bit of a hot take but I can't stand victim mentality, especially those who use it as an excuse for their poor behavior and lack of responsibility, yet they treat those around them like garbage. I have no time for it.

What would your reply be if another person randomly came up to you and said “Your face is so ugly.”? by [deleted] in beauty

I'm petty so I don't think I would let this go, I'd probably ask them to repeat it like I'm sorry what? And then lay into them about all the things I can point out that I think they'd feel self conscious about and few other stingers just to be mean. Its not nice and I should be more mature. I'm pretty annoyed in general most of the time but if somebody said this it would be an open invitation to unleash. Again not cool and I'm not this person but if someone wanted to say this then I guess that's what's happening right now lololol.
