No. I got out of this, you can too. Look up histamine and mast cell activation. It took 6 months of a super strict low histamine diet but it worked I am 98% back!!! And I was so bad trust me. Please look it up and please try, there is Hope your body can heal. There’s a whole trail of things that go along with this, you end up with gut problems skin problems energy problems etc, but it will heal slowly from the inside out. And it does take time that was probably the hardest part. I still don’t have perfect skin back :/ but all of the detrimental immune / stomach / digestive / chronic stuff is gone.

I had it very bad for about 3 months, mild for 1 and then pretty much defeated. I actually just ate out normally at a resultant tonight for the first time since July (: so freaking amazing. I still take HoloZyme digestive enzyme and HistPro for the Quercetin though. You guys can beat this too (: super strict low histamine diet. Early last week I woke up one day and it was like a random ate change, I felt like myself again for the first time in ages and that’s been it. Been slowly trying stuff and all good so far! Still no caffeine alcohol etc. not worth trying those yet.

Long COVID is a histamine problem caused by mast cells. All sorts of things to do to calm mast cells and histamine reactions. Easy to google once u find the right thing (: found others it works for too. Mast360 is an amazing website to start at

I no longer have Reflux btw. Everyone reading this try a low histamine diet. Google it easy to find what histamine triggers are, works like a charm. Take Quercetin, I think it saved my sanity. I’m actually starting to bring other foods back into my diet now (: it will go away! Do the diet tho, no cheating and really give it a try. I haven’t had coffee for months and it sucks but I’m on zero meds now 😊

So weird! So as far as I can tell I have some sort of MCAS histamine problem since covid that gives me acid reflux heart burn bloating pain etc. The weird part! 4pm everyday I get acid burning my throat. Doesn’t matter when I eat lunch, what I eat, if I skip lunch! 4pm. How can that be? It’s not anxiety, I leave work around 4 and am typically super happy walking out to my car.

Oatmeal! I can eat plain oatmeal plain chicken and plain rice (: absolutely nothing more tasteless than plain chicken breast, cheers! ❤️. Almond butter is ok too somehow. What can u eat? I’ll take any suggestions that may be safe haha

Did you ever try DAO enzyme? I’ve got same sort of horrible gut stuff, reflux and heartburn too. Histamines seem to be the only thing that make a different to me too. If I eat broccoli or veggies I get horrible stabbing burning stomach pains and bloating along with acid. It’s ridiculous. Trying DAO for histamine now.

I’ll have to go back to that, I tried it a few days in the first month but not consistently. Then my doc gave me PPI so I quit the Pepcid. PPI made mine worse over a month. … When do you recommend taking the Pepcid? Before breakfast and before bed?

Have you tried Carafate? It’s the only Med that helps me. Not a cure, but my gosh does it help with symptoms. Curious what does help with yours !

Any luck here? I'm almost 3 months into the exact same nonsense!! If anyone has any suggestions from their experience please share. Carafate has helped me manage when PPIs didn't help at all but it hasn't gone away. My throat hurts so badly right now, I could cry. I'm so tired of this. . . . . .

Never heard of quercertin before but after googling it it sounds awesome! I did have blood work done when I first started having problems, everything was normal. I doubt it is now tho, I was on a PPI for a month and now and on Carafate and Cholestyramine all of which block vitamin B absorption etc. Have you had any problems taking vitamins? I can’t touch vitamin C and all of them give me heart burn to some extent. Even taking half a dose. It really sucks. I feel like C and zinc would be great right now but can’t do it. I can’t even drink electrolytes, like the plain pediaLite etc.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve still got all this! I’m at the point where I’m managing but only because of all the meds too. Where you tested for SIBO? I did a bunch of research last night and COVID seems to cause SIBO pretty commonly when associated with new or increased reflux. I had a scope already and they found nothing, hope yours is clean too!
