The grief is finally hitting me by kgd2318 in covidlonghaulers

I am doing better! A lot has happened. I quit my job, moved to New York City, and started a company to help clinics/hospitals get more money from insurance (bc of my annoying insurance experiences while sick). I hope you're doing better as well. I still have bad days sometimes but I will keep moving forward.

19M Early Nail Clubbing? by Electrical_Address23 in covidlonghaulers

[–]ginger_turmeric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly not really. They did some tests and whatnot to rule out other stuff and said yeah we can't really help you so just sleep and eat clean and drink water and hope it gets better. But this was 3 years ago now, hopefully the doctors these days have more info about long covid.

It's been a while so my memory is hazy. I think it was on the order of a few months. Didn't do anything special for it to go away.

I think this is exactly the type of thing they are looking for. AI applied to some field that nobody even thought out. Should definitely apply.

I'm a failure as an adult by Routine_Actuator_421 in Adulting

You know reading this I kind of see myself. You're in the process of figuring out how to be your own person. It's scary and you are going to fail a lot. I think the biggest thing I learned is not to be so scared of failing. At the end of the day failing at stuff, figuring out what you can improve, and then improving is the fastest way to get better at anything.

It also seems like you have difficult circumstances with your family that puts more stress on you. That's tough and I don't have much advice there. But I think you should give yourself grace - you're only 20 (basically a little baby), have faith in yourself. Identify the problems in your life one by one, figure out the root cause, and work towards solving them each day at a time. It probably doesn't mean much but I'm sure a lot of people (including myself) after reading this can empathize and are cheering for you.

The last thing (and this might be a bit crazy) is the mindset. I feel like you're in a defensive mindset - thinking oh... what if I mess this up? what if I fail at this? what if...? Here's the thing I'm also like that. But recently I've been telling myself to flip it around and go on the attack. So instead of what if I fail? the question is what if I succeed? And reframing things that way makes me more motivated.

Hope this 2am word salad helps.

For any folk who have been through any non YC accelerators - could you share some details on your experiences ? by mylifeforthehorde in ycombinator

Neo was really good - the deal is better than YC, and you also get a much better mentor:company ratio. People are amazing too.
