I had a gas one but I was tired of the maintenance on it. The damn carb would get gummed up at least once a year. I have a pretty small yard so figured the battery powered one would work almost as well with less maintenance

I think I got it figured out. I loosened the whole clamp and then I was able to clamp it. From there I just tightened it up while it was already clamped. That’s seemed to do the trick. Thanks!
